The apprentice's ears flattened as he saw the deputy bound away, heading outside the camp. There goes my chance to do something! He thought with dread at the idea of not being sent to do something. Nightpaw walked up to the white she-cat, Dewstar as he knew her, and allowed his tail to scuff the dirt. "Dewstar? Do you need me to do anything?"

Dewstar nodded. "Can you help Smoketail gather moss for the elders?" she nodded to the gray she-cat, who came out of the warrior's den.
