Hawkpaw nods at her mentor's suggestion, grinning widely. Fishing was her favourite. She goes to leap away when Moonflower's voice makes her stop. Her head cocks as she observes silently from a distance. She wondered if his mood had to do with Gullpaw not coming along; she knew how close they were. The molly didn't want to intervene, not wanting to spoil his mood any more with her loud antics. "Should we just leave and let them talk?" She asks Whitepond, averting her gaze to look at her mentor.

with everyone already heading out or getting ready to, the deputy thought he had done a pretty good job of getting the morning rolling for the most part. though he was sure there were plenty of other things that would need to be done at some point. the bengal tom sighed before he stretched his limbs, wondering if he himself should go out and get some hunting done or remark some of the borders before any patrols would reach them. it would make time pass quicker but he wasn't exactly in a rush to do anything to be perfectly honest.

the young molly was glad that her mentor had noticed and was not here to scold her for eating. it seemed badgertail didn't mind the fact that she had gone on a tangent with her trying to explain herself and found it slightly comical. that didn't bother gull at all, if anything it relieved her. the apprentice sighed as she watched shriekpaw heading out with his mentor, hopefully, he would have some sort of fun, otherwise, she'd hear about it all later though when that would be she was unsure. she turned her attention back to badgertail as she spoke and the apprentice listened keenly. watching the other molly take a bite of the rabbit, she did so herself and thought over her mentor's question. she was already excited that they would be going out of camp and work on her hunting skills, something the apprentice truly needed work on. though when she thought about anything else she wanted to do, she came up pretty much blank, there wasn't much she needed to be satisfied and she was just eager to learn and even more eager to please those that had the pleasure of teaching her. "um. i don't know. if you were me, what would you want to do ?" she answered in resposne to her mentor's question.

with no trees in the generally new area, he had found a fox burrow to call his own right outside the clan's territory, luckily no snakes were making residence it in otherwise that would have been pretty tricky. the tom sighed, stretching his limbs before he pushed himself up to his paws and padded out of the den. letting his eyes adjust to the sunlight, the tom wondered what he would do today as he padded into the clan's territory for the first time and headed for the closest water source he knew of currently.

Whitepond glanced at her apprentice. "Well, the fish aren't gonna wait forever." We can keep going. She padded on a little longer before stopping. "Race you to the shore!" She told her apprentice, her silly side taking over as she bounded towards the ocean.

The she-cat kept padding on, quickly glancing to make sure her apprentice was following her. She shot up her head at Whiteponds voice ''Yes, we can go to the shore. I bet a lot of fish will be deeper in the water though.'' She turned around once again ''Shriekpaw? Whats wrong?'' she questioned, slowing down her pace.

"Hey! Wait up!" Hawkpaw squeaks, scrambling to catch up with her mentor. "That's not fair!" She lets out a laugh as she races after the molly; she was glad she was able to have fun with her mentor. Plus, running was something she enjoyed and something she excelled at due to her small size. It is not long before she is at her mentor's heels. "I'm gonna beat you!"

Whitepond laughed. "We'll see about that." She purred, speeding up as fast as she could go. Her apprentice was still at her heels. As they neared the ocean, Whitepond's foot caught on a stone. She tumbled and landed in the water before dashing back out. "I'm ok!" She told her apprentice as she shook out her fur.

Hawkpaw leaps back, trying to avoid the spray of water from her mentor, but she wasn't fast enough. She lets out a squeal as the water covers her face. It was cold, but in a good way. "Hey! Watch it!" She laughs, shaking the salty water off her face. "I think it's safe to say I won, considering I didn't fall into the water and all." Her face breaks out into a cheeky grin as she gives her mentor a wink and puffs her chest out in pride.

"Alright, you win this time." Whitepond purred. She turned back to the ocean. "Let's actually try to catch some fish now." She said before padding into the ocean. She focused, looking for fish. "Nothing yet," She told her apprentice.

"Yes!" Hawkpaw cheers, leaping up with excitement. She won! Now was not the time to celebrate, however, it was time to get down to business. "Okay, coming!" She meows as she wades into the salty sea water. Her head cocked, she scans the vast body of water before her, the cool liquid lapping at her legs. "Hmm... I think I see something!" The apprentice exclaims, her eyes fixated on something moving below the water's surface.

Badgertail was grateful for many things, and her apprentice was one of them. Gullpaw was eager to learn and she had a genuine sweet nature that was compatible with her own. Her ears perked at her next question and she drew in a soft breath, "Today feels like a good day for hunting or fishing, you can decide between the two." Her tail curled to her side as she took another bite out of the rabbit's tender flank and she rolled back on her haunches in thought, "Then again I think Moonflower's patrol is headed towards the river, so I could teach you some more battling skills that you could show to Shriekpaw once they return?" Badgertail gave a throaty purr- she remembered what it was like to be apprentice. It was always a subtle competitor of who did the coolest thing today and at the end of the day showing a fellow apprentice new battle tactics was always neat. Her tail flicked in though as she pondered, "Then we could wrap the day up with some hunting, perhaps work on hunting some rabbits?" She wanted today to be active, as her own apprenticeship was harrowed by constantly picking up around camp and while she did indeed have Gullpaw do that from time to time she knew her apprentice was on an exponential rise of growth and possibility, having her time busied with nest cleaning was a waste of precious time.
