Hawktail:
Crestfallen, I rise to my paws and give a stretch; trying to appear nonchalant about being interrupted. Trying, and failing - I think to myself. But either way, I was on my way to hunt. Loping across the clearing, I bolt out the main entrance and race through the ferns, feeling brambles tug at my fur and prod my pads. But I ignore all of that, looking for the dark part of the forest, the corner that holds only thin, scarce prey; the place no one goes but me.
Foxfur:
With my belly flat to the warm soil, and my ears forward desperately, I hold my breath, whiskers twitching, at what I hear ahead of me.
"I can't wait for the raid!" one of the she-cats purrs almost hungrily.
"I know!" the other female agrees, and I hear a scrabble of claws that makes me imagine her leaping at a helpless leaf.
"Hush you two!" The male growls, his voice low and foreboding, even in it's jubilant youth, "It's time to get back to camp, our Trainers will be worried." The two she-cats give meows of disappointment, but soon their sound and scent is fading. I rise, turn, and dart quickly back across the border line.
I must tell Thunderstar. As that thought pounds my head, I race as fast as my paws will carry me, back to camp.
