Graypaw- He nodded but he was caught off guard by Lunarwing. In a flurry, the gray tom leapt clumsily and scraped his paws down lunarwing's back but slipped and fell to the ground. ''Oooff!'' he puffed. Getting up, graypaw shook the dust from his fur, eyes blinking.

Lunarwing laughed as she stood, shaking out her pelt. "Try again, I know you can do this." She crouched again, waiting for her apprentice to regain his balance before jumping, changing her pattern this time. Instead of going forwards, she jumped to the left and came at him from the side.

Graypaw- Watching Lunarwing with determined eyes, the tom stared as she swiftly came to him. Growling in frustrasion, the tom leapt and scraped his paws along Lunarwing's lithe back. Grinning with satisfaction, Graypaw landed half clumsily onto the ground and turned around to face his mentor. '' How did I do this time?''

Lunarwing grinned as she felt his paws on her back, spinning around right in time to see him land. "Good, you're catching on quickly." She meowed. "But your landing is clumsy. If you were in battle, you'd be done for."

Snowstripe grinned at her reply, wondering if she was simply joking, or if she actually meant she might stay. Both seemed fine to him, at the moment, but for the loner, staying might not be the best idea. "Oh really? What about the clan cats here?" He meowed mockingly. "I heard you say the last one scratched you, poor thing."

"I know!" She said, clearly not picking up on the fact that he was mocking her. "It was awful! I'm pretty fast, though. I can run, hide, climb...I'll be just fine."

Graypaw- He nodded, the praise echoing in his mind although the last part hung around in his gray ears. '' Okay...how can I improve it?'' Graypaw mewed sighing. He wanted to be the best. He wanted to be best.

The tom's whisker's twitched amusedly as the she-cat spoke, his paws folded over each other. "So I assume that means you wouldn't consider joining the clan, then?" He asked, watching her with a sparkle in his eyes.

Lunarwing thought about it, replaying the scene in her head. "When you landed, you weren't very steady because your contact with me had thrown off your jump." She meowed. "After you get most of the way down my back, try pushing off to correct yourself, like when you jump back wards." Lunarwing demonstrated, launching herself forwards them pushing backwards with her front paws only, her back two staying off of the ground. "Remember, it'll be harder with a moving opponent, but you can do it." She crouched again, darting at him from the from so he could practice one last time.

Graypaw- Listening Intently, the tom nodded before rushing towards Lunarwing and repeating his previous steps although this time he pushed himself off her back. He struggled a bit in the air before landing with a neat thump. Looking up at Lunarwing hopefully, Graypaw shuffled straight up from his crouched postion.

Lunarwing turned after the weight on her back disappeared, turning around to watch him land. "You did it!" She exclaimed, bounding over. "That was perfect!"
