Spiderpaw had quickly padded after Aspenfur silently, tail bushed out. If the smell wasn't bad enough the sight of Orangepelt turned his blood to ice. "Someone in the clan had to have done it.." He spoke with a quite and mortified relization "I only smell our own clans sent."

Aspenfur turned to his apprentice, sorrow apparent in his eyes. His tail rested on the apprentices shoulder, and he took in a deep breath. "Orangepelt was a good warrior. It's terrible- terrible to think there's someone so terrible in the clan-" His voice broke with sorrow. The usually happy tom seemed broken by this. He prayed to starclan that the killer wouldn't do it again.

She padded up to Aspenfur, just as baffled as he was. "We all have no clue..." Stonefur mumbled wearily. It was only the morning, she thought, far too early for all this. The grey tabby honestly had no clue how the rest of the day would play out. Terribly, she expected. Flicking her tail, Stonefur stared blankly at the sky, as though reminiscing over her frightened thoughts. Anyone could be a killer, she could be sitting next to one!

The thought made her sick.

"We have to..." Pebblefang gulped. She couldn't believe what she was about to say. "We should exile someone. Otherwise, how do we know they're not the...killer?"

Stonefur nodded solemnly, agreeing with Pebblefang' s grim words. Flicking her tail, she looked around the gathering cats, searching for a glimmer of true evil in their sorrowful eyes. It seemed Orangepelt would be sorely missed.

"You are all too right..." She sighed, staring at Pebblefang thoughtfully.

Hemlocktail awoke to the sound of loud voices and a dreadful scent lingering around camp. Unfortunately, his curiosity overwhelmed his concern of just what could lurk outside his den, and the small black tom poked his head out of the den. And immediately regretted it. His clanmates were dotted around the clearing, but none of their shocked, disgusted faces could pry his hazel stare from the mangled corpse of Orangepelt. "Wh-"

Rosetail tries comforting her Clanmates. The suggestion made seems to weigh heavily on her mind. "I don't think I'd be able to send anyone away," she says. "Even with Orangepelt's death... No, especially because of Orangepelt's death. Our Clan is a family, even if not fully related by blood."

"Couldn't we bring them back if we're wrong?" asked Pebblefang quietly. She too felt guilty beyond belief for even suggesting the idea. "You're right...but we can't take any chances."
