Rowanlog looked at Deathshade, no surprise in his eyes. "Of course you believe it's all my fault. And I'll let you believe what you wish. But I always visited you. But you were always either asleep or too sickly to notice," he said, looking away from his son. His expression was blank, and any icy aura surrounded him. his spoke again, tone sarcastic and bitter. "Of course it's my fault Mossheart died. That's what you all think. But I'm no medicine cat. I have no power over whether StarClan would take her or not. You may blame me, but I did no worse to her than you, dear Deathshade." Rowanlog watched Faithstar go off, sinking his claws into the soil in fury. My son hates me. Mossheart could care less about what happens to us. And Faithstar doesn't realize how much pain she's caused this family, Rowanlog let out a low growl from deep in his throat, bristling his fur. StarClan, you are worthless traitors. You let doom cloud my family. Yu stripped everything away from me. You let Lionkit take the name Deathshade. And to make you pay, I will strip all the remaining lives that you gave our precious leader away, and I will not stop trying until I finally slink off into the Place of no Stars.

Pepper sighed, knowing Emeraldsky would have to be going now. "Goodbye, Emeraldsky. I hope you have fun at your gathering. Whe you come back, please tell me what happens!"





Lionlight watches the gathering, carefully listening to what the leaders of LeafClan and ThornClan had to say. Reedstar, the leader of leafClan, had announced the death of Ashstar, and how she had become leader. Lionlight already knew this, of course, since he's seen Ashstar around in StarClan. He hasn't talked ot him, but he's seem him. Lionlight tended to stick with communicating just with former HopeClan members. When Wildstar, the leader of ThornClan, spoke, she announced the treachery of one cat, which did take him by surprise. He hadn't heard of that, yet. He assumed all was well with the clan, but he was wrong. The ThornClan part of StarClan would've known about that, though. When the gathering started to dismiss Lionlight yawned and stretched himself. He turned to Watereyes and said, "Hey, Watereyes, before we turn in for the night, do you want to quickly go for a hunt?" He loved hunting in StarClan, since prey was always plenty.

The dark brown deputy yawned hardly able to make his way back to the den. He stumbled, swaying on his feet as he made his way to the warm nest next to Swanfoot, purling against her pure white fur, a weak purr rumbling in his chest as he drifted off to sleep.

Faithstar padded into the camp, fatigue slowing her pace and making her eyelids droop. The cats behind her were already filing into their dens, preparing for a sleep. Some cats were taking their places next to Mossheart to sit vigil for her, others were just going to their dens. Faithstar was a bit surprised that Nightwing had chosen to go to his own nest rather than share a final night with his deceased sister, but Faithstar wouldn't be one to question his decisions. Faithstar limped off into her own den, curling up into her nest and falling asleep.

Larkwillow padded through the forest beside Antclaw, a feeling of disappointment hanging over her like a storm cloud that was heavy with rain. "I wish I got the time to speak to a ThornClan or LeafClan cat," she mumbled sleepily to Antclaw with an obvious tone of dismay. "But we came late and were the first to leave. Though, I'll admit, I'm looking forward to sleep." Perhaps Thornfang and I will share a nest now...? I should wish Thrushpaw a goodnight, though, first.... right?

Rowanlog padded out to the clearing, staring down at Mossheart's dead body. He squinted at it, thoughts rushing through his mind. Mossheart? Have you given up on me? Would you not want me to sleep aside you tonight? Why could you have done nothing about Deathshade? Rowanlog sighed, looking down at his former mate's corpse. It's only right that I share one last night with her. I will grieve her one last night before she's finally taken her place in the Stars. Rowanlog lay down by Mossheart's side, gently licking her cheek before touching his muzzle to hers and falling asleep.

Pepper had a nest in Emeraldsky's den, because Faithstar had said that she would be training as a medicine cat until further notice. It was a thin nest that laid fairly close to where the injured or ill cats would sleep. There were clumps in the nest, and the moss was dry and old, but somehow Pepper had managed to find sleep. She was curled into a tight ball, providing extra warmth for herself which the nest couldn't. It was a light sleep, not very good, but it indeed was sleep.





"Awesome!" he said enthusiastically, almost bouncing up and down with the anticipation of the hunt. "How about we go hunting on the moor? I have a craving for rabbit!"

Leaftail was walking through the forest with his two step-kits, Scarletpaw and Swiftclaw, trailing behind him. He had entered the camp and wished them a good night before going into the nursery to check on Silverstrike and the kits. He peeked his head into the nursery to check if Silverstrike was awake. "Silverstrike? Are you awake?" he murmured softly, not wanting to awake her, but rather see if she had been awake.

Flamepaw entered the camp, heading toward the Apprentice's den to sleep. He felt a bit bitter about his encounter with Aspenpaw of LeafClan, and was slightly regretting being so rude and standoffish towards her. But he didn't want her comfort. Everything was fine as it was. He realized he'd likely never see her again, and that's what he kept telling himself so that he wouldn't feel guilty. He was tired, and when he climbed into his nest, he fell asleep almost instantly.

Faithstar woke up when she heard a ruthless voice speak to her, and she jolted awake, clearly startled. "H-Hock?" she stuttered, eyes shining with fear. She let out a small screech as Hock leaped onto her, and she thrashed wildly as his claws dug into her skin. "Hock... why do you do this?" she breathed, voice painfully rasping. Faithstar looked up at Hock, eyes wide in horror. "Wh-what would you ever need revenge for?" she screeched as he dragged his claws along her face, and she yowled in utter pain as he bit into her neck. She could feel warm blood beginning to spill out of her, and her vision slowly faded, reminding her of when Darkness took her first life. She kicked him in the belly, almost managing to throw him off, but he was far stronger. "...Hock... why?" she whispered, eyes closing as she lost her second life.

Faithstar woke up in a meadow, two familiar she-cats leaning over her. "Faithstar? Oh, it seems she's awaken now, Hopestar," said a brown and white she-cat with dazzling olive-green eyes. "Yes, Daisyleaf... is it unusual for a leader to take this long to wake up after losing their second life?" Faithstar could tell who they were instantly. Hopestar, an ancestor of Faithstar and HopeClan's founder, and Daisyleaf, HopeClan's first medicine cat. "Hello...' murmured Faithstar to the two, ancient she-cats. "Greetings, Faithstar. It's a shame that you had to lose a life on the night of a gathering, but this was written in the stars," she murmured softly, sympathy showing in her gorgeous blue eyes. "You knew Hock would attack all along?" she whispered, still feeling the pain in her neck from Hock's fatal attack. "In a way..." Hopestar whispered vaguely, looking up at the open sky, many stars shining above. "It'll take a few moments for your wounds to completely heal," said Daisyleaf briskly. She had strange herbs in her jaws, that she was chewing. "Even StarClan suffers from injuries. Thankfully, the herbs that grow here are strong enough to make a half-dead cat completely heal." Faithstar stayed silent as Daisyleaf worked on her wounds, rubbing a strange, pleasant-smelling herb onto the injury. "Alright, Faithstar. You're ready to go now. Be careful around Hock."
