Faithstar looked at Wildstar, nodding to ThornClan's leader as she took her turn to speak. ''Greetings, LeafClan and ThornClan. It is lovely to see you all again after many seasons," she said, gaze switching between the faces in the crowd below. "With a heavy heart, I also will say that I will miss Ashstar dearly. He will be missed by cats of all clans, as he was a respected and noble leader to LeafClan." Faithstar paused for a moment, trying to think of what to say. She couldn't give away too much. So much has happened, and she wouldn't dare let the clans take advantage of HopeClan if they knew what the clan has been going through. "A lot has happend to HopeClan the past four seasons. A bout of greencough sprouted last Greenleaf, killing off two kits named Joykit and Thunderkit, their siblings, Applepaw and Ivypaw, are here today. The greencough had also managed to last through newleaf, and then killed their mother, a noble warrior and excellent hunter, Mossheart. The sickness had also taken our former medicine cat apprentice, Lightningpaw. However, through HopeClan's loss, we have also gained! Silverstrike gave birth to a large litter of six kits just today, the father is Leaftail. We have also received three new warriors, Antclaw, Larkwillow, and Thornfang. Mossheart's two other kits, Applepaw and Ivypaw, are also newly-made apprentices. I'd also like to mention that we've found Vinepaw again, a young tom who went missing as an apprentice. Although HopeClan suffered loss when greencough struck, we've been growing ever since. I hope that StarClan blesses us with good fortune." With that, the she-cat nods, and steps back to signify she was finished.

Larkwillow felt her face grow hot with embarrassment when her name was mentioned. Although it had only been said for a brief moment, and had been casually blanketed in between her two best friends' names, she couldn't help but feel like every cat was watching her. A rather irrational thought, as most of the cats didn't even know who Larkwillow was!

Leaftail closely listened to what the other leaders said, hoping to bring back gossip to his loving mate who'd be stuck in the nursery for a while. When both Reedstar and Wildstar had finished, Leaftail had started going over information in his head so that he'd remember to repeat it to Silverstrike in the morning. Ashstar died, Reedfeather is now Reedstar. New litter of kits in LeafClan. Willowstrike attempted murdering Yellowheart when Yellowheart became deputy. It wasn't as much information as Leaftail had hoped to bring back, but he guessed that the clans would be guarded about what they shared. He'd only share as much with Silverstrike as ThornClan and LeafClan wanted to share. When Faithstar stepped forward, he listened carefully, ears drooping at the mention of the loss of many cats last greenleaf. However, his eyes brightened when his newborn kits were mentioned. He stood up straight, a proud glimmer in his eyes. Soon, Shadekit, Mossykit, Hailkit, Cloudkit, Thunderkit, and Greykit would all be apprentices, coming to their first gathering!

Flamepaw noticed that Faithstar didn't reveal everything that happened to HopeClan when she spoke. It was obviously on purpose. She only had to share what the other clans needed to know. The marshy and stifled scent of LeafClan washed over him, and he looked over to see a young tom had joined Aspenpaw. Flamepaw took note of the way they rubbed against each other, and assumed they must be in a romantic relationship (ew). All thoughts of him apologizing to Aspenpaw were pushes away when her significant other (again, ew Flamepaw) came into the picture.

Listening to what the Hopeclan leader was saying, she had felt terrible about the killing of greencough. It must have been hard for the Hopeclan cats to cope with the many losses. Grief struck over her, remembering seeing her mother die of an illness. Coughing and wheezing all day and all night. until Starclan took her. Aspenpaw wasn't quite sure of where her parents went. They could've gone to Starclan, the place where cats did not believe in Starclan or the place of darkness where all evil cats had gone. She shivered a bit, imagining what the Dark Forest looked like. It must have been dreadful with dead trees and the smell of rotting prey. Looking over at Breezepaw, he didn't seem to be paying much attention to her. Flattening her ears, she looked back at the three leaders.

Lilypaw looked at the leaders as they announced the news. She curled her tail over her paws and sighed at the mention of Oakflower. "I hope we find her." She murmured, half to herself.

Minnowpaw looked at her paws as Ashstar's name was mentioned. Ashstar had been her mentor, and he had taught her great things. She would miss him a lot. "When I become a warrior, I want to be a Minnowash, not a Minnowtail." She mewed determinedly to herself, and made a mental note to tell Reedstar when they reached camp.

Reedstar dipped her head to the two leaders, watching the three clans mingle.

Ivypaw puffed out his small chest, proud of the announcement. He hoped his mother would be proud.

Somehow, at the base of the ridge, Nightwing had fallen asleep


The stars seemed to glow brighter in the sky, moon sinking to signal the fast approaching dawn.

(I'm so sorry for being so inactive! I've been really busy with homework and such, but I should be able to post more often now. Sorry if I missed any interactions with Flamepaw or Mousestep!)

☼Flamepaw/Thornclan☼
Flamepaw opened his mouth to speak to the Hopeclan cats next to him, but was cut off by the yowl of the Leafclan leader announcing the start of the gathering. Flamepaw gave a soft smile to the cats next to him, before turning his gaze to focus on the leaders above him. This was his first gathering, and he knew he had to pay attention to everything, so he could tell all the apprentice's back at camp what happened. Flamepaw's whiskers twitched in excitement as he heard Reedstar announce herself as new leader of Leafclan, and Flamepaw wondered to himself what the former leader had been like. This was his first gathering, so he hadn't seen many other cats of different clans before. He could have gone to a gathering earlier, but he refused. He hadn't felt comfortable in his own clan until recently, since he knew this was the best time to prove his worth in the clan. Flamepaw snapped out of his thoughts as Wildstar dipped her head to Reedstar and took her place. Flamepaw gasped to himself as he heard what had happened to Willowstrike, and he shifted his paws in discomfort. I knew I hadn't seen Willowstrike anywhere today.. Flamepaw thought sadly, wondering if there was anything he could have done to stop the vicious warrior. Probably not.. I'm only an apprentice. Flamepaw turned his head to see every cat gazing proudly at the three leaders, and he smiled softly. He knew these cats would be his enemy one day, but for now they could all mingle as one. Flamepaw let out a sigh of relief as Wildstar finished her announcements, and he wondered why she hadn't said anything about all the new loners joining. She'll probably mention them next time. Especially if Echo's going to be the next medicine cat apprentice; he sure likes those herbs! Flamepaw's whiskers twitched in amusement as he thought about the loner that had come to their camp only earlier that day, and knew almost every herb in the medicine-den. Flamepaw still felt strange around the new cat, like he had known him all his life, but he knew that couldn't be true. Flamepaw shrugged it off as he listened to the Hopeclan leader talk about her striving clan, and Flamepaw nodded in approval as she hoped for Starclan's blessings. As the gathering came to an end, Flamepaw noticed cats mingling around eachother as they had earlier, and he realized that some were sharing tongues. Hmm.. how much should we trust these cats? Flamepaw thought darkly, turning to face the Hopeclan cats he was talking to before, but seeing them among the other mingling cats. Flamepaw sighed to himself, and stood to his paws to find someone else to talk to. Your first gathering, and you hardly talked to any new cats! Flamepaw murmured to himself, before weaving through the full clearing to find his own clan-mates.

Mousestep let out a sigh of relief as he saw Hopeclan flooding the clearing, and he noticed Faithstar immediately on the highrock to address the clans. He listened and nodded contently, noticing a few apprentice's arguing a tail-length away. His whiskers twitched in amusement as he thought about how care-free and obnoxious he was when he was just an apprentice. My mentor must've hated me! Mousestep let out a small mrrow of laughter, earning a few strange looks from the cats around him. He shrugged as they turned away from him to put their focus back on the leaders. Mousestep did the same, and realized he had missed Faithstar's announcements, and the gathering was coming to a close. Mousestep stretched out his legs, before starting to give himself a thorough wash. His pelt had got stuck on a thorn bush as him and his clan-mates hurried to the gathering, and he regretted not picking them out earlier, as his pelt felt like it was burning from the pain.

Foxpaw Thornclan
Foxpaw listened closely to all the announcements. Every one interested her. She felt sad that the gathering was almost over. A little disappointed actually. Looking around for her clanmates, she spotted Flamepaw. 'We haven't spoken in some time. I wonder how he is.' she thought as she bounded up to him. "Hello." she said happily.

Flamepaw was bounding towards a brown and ginger Leafclan tom, but was stopped in his tracks by his bright-furred clan-mate. "Hi, Foxpaw. How's Eaglepaw?" Flamepaw meowed, a hint of concern lacing his tone. He had seen the apprentice tom sprawled out in the middle of camp earlier, and he had found out that it was from a lack of eating. He hoped the tom was okay. Come on, you need all your energy if you want to become a great warrior!

She smiled a little sadly at him. "Alive. We're working on him. How's Frostpaw?" she asked worriedly. Foxpaw knew they sorta had a relationship similar to her and Eaglepaw's.

Flamepaw narrowed his eyes as soon as Foxpaw had mentioned his crush Frostpaw. He was doing a good job not thinking about her, and he was happy with that, but Foxpaw had flipped Flamepaw's mood with that single phrase. Flamepaw shrugged coldly, looking down to his paws, trying not to show the rage in his eyes. "I don't know. She's supposed to be my mate, but she was hanging out with Ravenpaw all day.. and then I saw her by the stream, crying. I asked her what was wrong.. but she wouldn't talk to me. I bet she likes that flea-pelt, doesn't she!?" Flamepaw snarled, his eyes filled with pain as he thought about his lover, and why she wouldn't speak to him near the stream. They had become close just earlier today, but Flamepaw felt as if they were destined to be together. But she doesn't feel that way. Why am I so mouse-brained?
