His eyes narrow a bit, lightly patting the ball around still. "Sometimes... Those kinds of things are out of our control. We could die any day, but it's not our fault of course. Just a matter of making sure they knew how much you cared." He'd always miss his father who passed away only twelve moons ago, but wasn't bothered heavily by his passing.

With no answer it was safe to assume his apprentice was either resting or not in the den, or in the camp clearing. He turns to find the two she-cats waiting, shaking his head. "No Stonepaw, I'll have to bother him later about daily hunting. Ready to go?" Perhaps his apprentice would catch up with them, sooner or later.

"Ready!" she smiled. She liked the idea of being out of the camp on doing something useful. Her white tail tip flicked side to side happily.

Beigewhisker nodded. She wondered who could possibly like a cat like her anyway. She decided that she wouldn't have to worry about kits, since she won't have any in her lifetime. "I wonder if my parents felt any guilt after they let a monster hit me.." She thought out loud.

He starts heading out of camp, debating slightly where they would head. Water did sound like a good idea this time of day, but it held no promises. "I'm thinking we'll head towards the lake and see what we can find along the way. The willows there will be offering shade from the heat, the waters use is obvious."

"Hm, if I was cold hearted and evil I'd still feel regret when Starclan banishes me to the darkests parts of the Place with no Stars. But I'm not very mean, so I don't know what they were thinking." He imagined the dark forest filled with heartless, rude cats who now dwelled on their evil of the past; for eternity.

She nodded enthusiastically at the idea of heading down to the lake, "Sounds like a great idea!". The way the sun shone on the water and the rustling of the wind in the willows made her happy. She followed with her tail high. She didn't understand why she was so happy to be going to a lake, but it felt nice. She couldn't wait to feel the water on her paws.

Beigewhisker sighed. "I just can't believe they did as their leader told them at that point. Kill all the apprentices and kits? What was wrong with that tom cat!?" She growled slightly.

"We can split up a bit when we get there." His last announcement before focusing on their travel near the border. With three cats they could likely take on any threats if needed, that he was sure of. They were both reliable cats at the very least.
