"Aspenpaw is dead and...Breezekit has been bit. Because the infection can spread so easily I doubt we can fix up the apprentice's body or even try and treat the kit's wound." He meows, doing his head to the leader to be respectful. "Should we quarantine Breezekit from the others? Thrushfur knows not lick him for now but I dint think we should risk a breakout. But we also don't think we should kill a kit, infected or not...ideas?" The tom want sure what to do, and he didn't want to come across as bossy, but something needed to be done and most cats were just sitting around doing nothing.

Spottedkit looked up at Thrushfur. "What happened to Breezekit?" She asked.

Volantstar felt a lump in her throat, she knew what had to be done. The kitten would have to be killed but she didn't want to speak those words. "We'll take him across the river and leave him there, maybe to the twolegs nest. She probably has some time before he turns. I don't want to kill him but... We can't keep him here." She mewed to the cats. "Best idea is to put moss in his maw, ifhe turns he can't bite, he's a moon old, right? his teeth won't hurt us, he can't infect, but... not taking the risk." Volantstar mewed to Ravenfrost. "Also, Ravenfrost, you'll be accompanying me, Oakfang, and Sparrowcatcher on the journey to the twoleg's home, we're going to do some research."

Bristlepelt listened to Volantstar and nodded a little. With things starting to be taken care of he looked around for Sparrowcatcher. "I'm sorry about what happened," He meowed quietly. He felt more discouraged about being with Sparrowcatcher thanks to Thunderstorm but he knew he loved him. Bristlepelt hated that he had made himself feel self consious about this.

"Yes Volantstar," he meows, nodding slowly. "Anything to help. Who should I take with me to...deposit Breezekit?"

Thrushfur pushed the kits away from Breezekit, would was still shaking and feeling sick. "Nothing...just keep away from him." She sighs, knowing Fawnkit must be distraught.

[Thistill]

"Nobody, will make a stop on our way to the twoleg nests, drop him off, that's all we can do." The she-cat mewed to him. "There's an abandoned badger den, that'd be good." The she-cat added on. "Do you want to carry him, Ravenfrost...?" She asked him slowly.

"Yes. That'll be fine. I don't want to risk another cat's live just in case," he says, glancing back. "Let me go get the kit and tell Crowflight of our departure. When do we leave?"

Spottedkit stared at Thrushfur, then turned to Fawnkit. "Can I go out?" She asked Thrushfur.

Sparrowcatcher shakily pulled himself out of the nursery and gave his pelt a shake. He shouldn't be showing how scared he was but...a kit? It was awful. Yet, he knew they couldn't do anything. But he was more scared that the infection could happen to anyone, especially those he cared about. Sparrowcatcher looked over at Bristlepelt uncomfortably and was about to approach him when he remembered Thunderstorm's furious rage moments earlier. Maybe now wasn't the time. At the mention of the badger den, Sparrowcatcher winced. It brought back some memories of the badger they had rescued so many moons ago. Obelix. He hadn't seen him for a while but he wondered...would the infection get him too?

Stripedpaw ducked under the camp barrier and entered camp warily. Cats were crowded around...what had happened? In her jaws, she held a bundle of tansy and other herbs. Come leaf-bare, herbs would be seldom easy to find.
"Foxpaw?" Stripedpaw questioned, seeing the apprentice near the older black tom, Thunderstorm. She darted over to her friend, the herbs scattering from her jaws. "What's happening?!"

Daemongeist let out a puff of breath. "Fatty?" He planted a paw on the she-cat's shoulder, preventing her from getting back to her paws. "Is that any way to speak to your sa--"
A crackle in the woods startled him. Was someone watching them? Daemongeist's ears flicked, and he looked over at the brushes. There, a pair of glowing golden eyes were fixed on them. Daemongeist's heart sunk to his paws. Had they been found out?
"Hello?" Daemongeist questioned oddly.

Thunderstorm glared at Foxpaw and walked over to the dead body of Aspenpaw.

Echoflight came out of the warrior's den. "What is going on?!" He exclaimed.
