to flintpaw, the idea of littlepaw being responsible for a warrior's disappearance seemed absurd. the young tom frowned as he watched those around him cast their votes--surely they didn't believe littlepaw was capable of such a heinous thing, did they? he shook his head, standing as the tip of his tail flicked with his anxiety. after all, the last time anyone had seen ashtree was on guard duty. if an apprentice had approached him, wouldn't he have simply sent them to bed? "u-um, everyone, please use your heads--" he mewled weakly, glancing over at his friend and denmate. this wasn't right. "how could an apprentice be responsible? that doesn't make any sense!"

Though Rosetail initially had already cast her vote, she reconsiders. Littlepaw is still an apprentice, after all, even if she is a medicine cat. Would she really be capable of killing Ashtree? "I recant my vote," she decides. She looks between her Clanmates. Who could have possibly murdered Ashtree?
Her green gaze flits between the cats, slowly ruling them out in some way or another. Finally, she recasts her vote with a grim tone: "I think it was Shadewave."

lilyshadow looked up from the body she had been looking intently at, couldnt peel her eyes off. she let out a small meow, turning to the commotion. "i-i vote" she paused for a moment, what evidence did any of them have? "i-i vote shadewave" .

The male seemed to agree with flintpaw's idea abput how an apprentince be the killer. But a part of him said to go for Littlepaw. "If I remember correctly, Littlepaw is small. Also, an apprentince would have no idea on how to be a strong warrior like Ashtree. Lets hear from Littlepaw, see what he thinks."

Littlepaw sent a grateful look Flintpaw's way, her heartbeat beginning to settle a bit as her Clan-mates changed their votes. Still, her voice trembled as she spoke up, "It wasn't me. Flintpaw is right - Ashtree would have sent me back to my nest. And I certainly couldn't have murdered him because I'm too small. It had to have been an older cat."
