Yara growled and kept going, but moved the pup round to his front. He started performing CPR as best he could while fighting the current. He wasn't a healer to begin with, he inflicted pain on others, not helped them, but he was trying his hardest. He had already given up on himself, he wasn't going to drag a pup down with him.

Yara felt the pup slip away, a sigh escaping his lips. "I'm sorry..." Nonetheless, he held on to it's body, not letting it's spirit wander the seas. When he got back on land... and he had decided, he WAS getting back to land, he was going to bury him and put his spirit to rest. That was what he deserved, nothing more, nothing less.

The other pup was still hanging from the tree, chewing on her collar to try to free herself.
"It's no use, brat!" The mother of the pup laughed. She jumped up and pulled on the small pup's back leg, strangling her even more than before. "You're getting what you deserve!"

InkJR jumped up and ran over to the female greyhound, but didn't touch her. "Release the kid." He snarled, bringing his ears forward and lifting his hackles up.

"Go away." The greyhound growled.

Yara struggled against the current, his breathing laboured, his eyesight getting blurry from exhastion. He could smell the land, even if he couldn't see it. It welcomed him in, forcing the current to change and pull him in closer. He was in the middle of nowhere, nothing else near but ocean.
Before he could do anything else, he buried the pup, dipping his head and saying a few words. Eventhough he hadn't known him very long, he felt as if he had too, as no one else would be able to. But he had practically killed himself to get to the land, not to mention dig and fill the grave. He keeled over, laying on his side, still except for the faint rise and fall of his chest. He was dying, and there was nothing anyone could do to help him.

A big raven landed next to Yara and squawked loudly in his ear, then pecked his shoulder curiously. It was the bird that normally followed Raven around, but it looked a lot like him with the black moon mark over it's left eye...
