Forestheart rose from her hiding spot. "Heya." she meowed to her mate. "What was that about?" she asked, nodding in the direction Blackfeather was in.

Forestheart pointed her tail behind her. "How about 3 or 4 fox lengths that way? I picked up that there was a beech nut avalanche over there." she told Brambletail.

Brambletail nodded. "Okay. Let's go!" he ran off playfully. He quickly found a mouse and stalked it. He buried it and searched for more prey.

Forestheart looked at the many beech nuts and saw a squirrel trying to crack it. She stalked it and pounced, then she killed it with a swift bite to the neck. She buiried it and then saw a moving brown furry thing among some roots a tail-length away.

Brambletail saw a robin. He stepped on a stick while approaching and scared it away. "Mouse dung!" he mewed. But then he noticed a plump rabbit. He chased after it and finally got close enoug to kill it. After the chase, he brought it back, panting, and buried it next to his mouse.
