Dapplepool looked at Nightscar with dismay. “ It looks to me like something is bothering your throat. Whatever it is, you need to stay away from it. “ she put her nose on the large tom’s head. “ I think you have a fever. Perhaps that is why your stomach isn’t feeling well, too? “ Dapplepool remembered Larksong say fevers can contribute to upset stomachs. She grabbed more honey, and mixed it with poppy seeds. She then passed the mixture to him. “ Eat this. The honey will help your throat, and help you swallow down the poppy seeds. You need them, to rest. “ she explained. she watched Nightscar lap up the mixture, then turned around and laid down in her nest, thinking about what might have triggered Nightscar’s reaction.

* nightscar continued to lay on the ground as he laped up the mixture and he yawned * * he felt like he couldn't move well * * so he remained on the floor of the medicine cat den * * he started to think about his father * * he smiled a bit remembering the day his father gave him his collar from when he was a kit but when it had dog teeth on it * * he then frowned remembering how the old leader made him bury it in the clearing * * he so desperately wanted to dig it up and then hide it under his nest or put it on somehow and bury it under his neck fur and wear it just to remember where he truly came from * * he started to think of his mother and smiled * * he remembered the day his mother brought him a mossball for him and his sister to play with *

Thornkit looked at Spiderkit happily, and started to run away again. Before he could really take off, a piercing pain struck his pad, and he let out a screech. “ Ouch! My pad really hurts! “ He wailed. He looked up at Spiderkit. “ can you go tell Dovetail, or Dapplepool? “ he asked.
