Blackpaw started working a tail-length away from Foxpaw. She gathered a clump of mud and began to pat it into place.

"If you could wish for anything in the whole wide world, what would it be?" Peachkit asked curiously.

Stormkit tilted her head thoughtfully. "To be a bird."

A facepalmed after a finished writing that.)

Foxpaw left momentarily to collect sticks to add.

[Cradily]

"Really?" This answer seemed to surprise Peachkit. "Why would you want to be a bird? What if you got hunted?"

Blackpaw continued working in silence.

"I'd be a big bird," she promised. "Bigger than a robin. I'd be an eagle-hawk-monster bird! I want to fly all over the world and explore everything!" Then, flailing her front paws, she ran in a circle as fast as she could. Admittedly, as was expected, flailing did not help one run, so it was actually quite slow.

Peachkit stared at her with big, round eyes. "But...Mommy?" She looked up at her mother. "Stormkit won't really turn into a bird and fly away, will she?"

"No, sweetie," Robinheart chuckled. Stormkit frowned. "How do you know?"

"Alright, everyone. Rockfire-find Rubyfur, and an apprentice. Go collect as many sticks as you can find. Large ones. I, Morningsong, Tigertail, and Peachclaw will start toting mud back to camp and form a small wall."

Tigertail nodded and got to work.

"Oh, good," Peachkit sighed. She turned to Stormkit. "I don't want you to fly away. I'd miss you."
