Fury and sorrow swamped her, and she whipped around. "Fine then," she meowed tartly. "Maybe I should go." She stalked off, her tail lashing.

Flintfoot still looked down, his eyes in slits. " Betrayal can change a cat. " He meowed aloud, loud enough for Flamewing to hear.

She growled in response, and leapt into the undergrowth, her fur bristling. Right before she disappeared, she peered over her shoulder bitterly. "Do you remember? How heartbroken I was when you two got together? How angry and silent, emotionless on the face, I was? How torn I was between you and Riverstorm? Well then, looks like I don't have to choose anymore."
