Murderers in Riverclan V.2 [Roster Update 10/30]

Poppykit opened her eyes, closing them briefly due to the light streaming in. The small kit pushed herself into a sitting position, and looked around. The other kits seemed to still be asleep. Poppykit exited the nursery, taking in the fresh air. She shivered due to the cold, but noticed that it all seemed peaceful.

Always a light sleeper, Puddlepounce awoke as she heard rustling at her belly, and sleepily opened one eye to see Poppykit's small form outside the nursery. Panic flared inside the queen for a moment until she realized that the clan was safe. Still, that didn't mean the cold couldn't be as deadly as hostile claws. Carefully extracting herself from the rest of her kits, she stepped lightly to the entrance of the den. "What's got you so eager to explore, little one?" Puddlepounce purred, poking her head out of the nursery and regarding Poppykit with affectionate amusement. "Not going to cause trouble for the warriors, are you?"

Poppykit heard a familiar, warm voice, and turned around, eyes sparkling cheekily. 'Noo~' She replied, face completely contradicting her words. 'I just wanted to see what the camp was like when no one was awake!' She said, nodding to try and make her point stronger.

Lillykit yawned as she awoke. Noticing Poppykit was up, she looked around for Puddlepounce. Seeing both of them, the small kit got up to her paws, and trotted unsteadily to the queen and other kit. "What's going on?" she squeaked.

Puddlepounce laughed quietly at Poppykit, unable to call the mischievous little kit back into their den. She'd been about to purr a response when a second small voice sounded from behind her. Swiveling her ears, the brown queen tapped Lillykit gently on her forehead with her tail. "Nothing to worry about, little one. Poppykit just seems bent on causing trouble." She gave the little kit a bright look, that didn't seem like she was about to scold them. "If there's no one up yet, I don't want you running about on your own. If you're going to be wondering around, maybe I ought to show you around." Careful she's the mom who'll kick a beehive to impress her kids.

Mossflight yawned, sleepy and tired, wondering if the clan had made the right move, exiling Swiftcloud. Was he still out there? And what if he was simply an innocent cat, like the rest of the clan? Mossflight shivered from the cold, remembering her parting with Hollyclaw. Hollyclaw... where was she? Mossflight hadn't seen her all night after they had left. "Where's Hollyclaw?" She said, out loud.

Cherrystar woke up, hearing cats already begin to gather outside. She padded outside, and heard Mossflight's muttering about Hollyclaw. If Hollyclaw was missing... This was bad. Very bad news.

"You don't know where Hollyclaw is?" she asked Mossflight, alarmed. Was the killer still among them? The thought made fur stand up on the back of her neck. Few knew how many lives Cherrystar had left, and she worried that the killer knew about her being on her final life. If they couldn't exile the killer and she died, chaos would ensue if her deputy couldn't take the reins quickly enough.

Puddlepounce heard Mossflight and Cherrystar by pure chance. But it sent a chill running through her veins and she wasn't quite sure why. The brown queen had been certain that Swiftcloud had been the killer - Hollyclaw was likely just out for a walk. Even so, she couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling that settled in her stomach. "Back in the den, Poppykit." Puddlepounce said quietly, slipping out and starting to usher the little kit towards the nursery with her tail. "I'll let you explore camp another day, hmm? It's too cold for little kits to be running around." She chirped, ultimately picking up her daughter by the scruff and setting her gently inside the nursery. "None of you step paw outside the nursery until I say so, alright?"

Sunflight

Sunflight was sitting at the entrance of the warrior's den, anxiously pawing at the ground right outside. I can't believe this is happening... He'd always believed in his Clan and his clanmates; never once had his faith wavered. But there he was, doubting the safety of his beloved home. But it was Swiftcloud, right? ... There wasn't really much evidence against him... Guilt pricked at his fur. And I voted for him anyway... He wanted to cry out to StarClan for guidance. Could it really have been someone in RiverClan, Swiftcloud or otherwise? He looked up, clearly concerned, as he heard Cherrystar ask about his denmate. "Hollyclaw? She's alright, isn't she? I haven't seen her today..." She's probably just... On a walk. He tried not to be worried, but with the image of Littlesneeze's body so fresh in his memory, thoughts of death were forcing their way into his mind.
