Halo

Halo grinned as Heartz bolted past him, her pace slowed so that she was only a teasingly short distance ahead. He gave a fiesty neigh of defiance for her own personal enjoyment, but stayed at his current pace. No need to pull a tendon or something, especially when they were still a fairly good stretch from their destination. He heard the new mare's soprano voice drift down from the hill like a spring breeze, and it was only a matter of moments before she was at his side. Her laugh reminded him of the beautifully cascading waterfalls that graced the river mouth, always light and ready for a little fun. Her golden honey eyes now locked on him as she awaited a response, his mouth turned up in a crooked smile. "Halo." he told her mischievously, his pace slowing a hair so they wouldn't have to continue at such an uncomfortable pace.
"And what might your name be?"

Bandit
Bandit's lips curved slowly into a smile as she met his deep golden eyes with her own rose-hued gaze. Her gait slowed to keep pace with him, the long grass tickling her velvet-coated stomach as the two Equids brushed through the golden fronds, the river laying ahead of them in the hills like a winding silver snake, the sunlight glancing off it. "Halo," Bandit murmured softly, testing his name on her tongue. She glanced at him and nodded, a small smile touching her lips. It fit him perfectly. "It fits you," she repeated lightly, considering him with her serious gaze. She tilted her head, subconsciously admiring the way the afternoon sunlight shimmered in his pale auburn coat. "My name is Bandit," she said in her clear, musical voice, the awkward weight of saying her name weighing heavily on her tongue. Bandit. An unusual name, but as Equids had grown to call her that, she had grown to like the name. But it always felt odd saying it. Bandit was not her birth name. But her true name, forgotten by all but Bandit herself, had fit her even better. But no matter. She shook those thoughts from her mind as she tossed her mane out again, longing for that sparkling, cool river.

Heartz looked behind her and saw Halos attention somewhere else and lost interest in racing him. She snorted, sped up and veered off to a nice patch of clover not wanting to swim anymore.

canad looked back to see halo conversing with bandit. "nothing better be goin' on with those two..." he murmured, he knew that bandit could be the one. his heart beats so fast when he hears her gentle voice, his heart smiles when he looks at her. he looked back to the river, seeing his steady reflection, his dark brown fur and his golden eyes. he thought about his parents, captured by the humans... he snapped out of that thought. he did not want sadness to overcome him right now.

Skyrionic trotted down to the water towards Canad. He was being careful and slow, his body tence and prepared to bolt. "The stallion named Halo may have been nice, But Lead stallions tend to be a different matter." He thought. His tail swished nervously.

I took a small step back in surpirse, "Oh, i'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you." I said quickly. "I just wanted to welcome you to the herd." I said and smiled again. With a wave of my tail I headed back to Livius while watching Halo and some of the other equids race towards the river. I thought about joining them, even thought my coat was mostly white, the black brindles still soaked up the heat. But I told Livius i'd be right back, maybe I can convince him to head down with me, I thought.

Halo

Halo felt a flare of bashful heat spread across his face for only a moment, and then his ears pricked as he carefully took in her musical tone. He didn't even notice when Heartz veered off, his eyes reaching deep into hers as yet another smile lit up his face. Bandit. This name he could understand. Though a thoughtful mare of good manners, you could see the edge of mischief that nearly constantly danced in her eyes. Like a long kept secret on the verge of making itself known. The sun gleamed down upon them both, a gentle breeze tousling his mane and tail as he navigated the tall grass. He gave a light chuckle, his tail gently brushing a bur from his right thigh. "A peculiar name for a peculiar mare." he murmered blissfully, cutting his eyes to the sky. Lovely sierrus clouds stretch over the horizon, like a whispy equid tail that soared higher than the mountains themselves. "Your name couldn't be any more perfect." he responded in an almost serious tone, glancing back to her finely sculpted features. He leaned in slightly, as if sharing a valuable secret. "Because I bet you can be quiet the feisty individual." he whispered with another grin, quickly drawing away to a normal distance. His eyes were humorous as he turned to face her, quietly awaiting a response.

Livius watched Dolce saunter off over to speak with Famous and if anyone had seen the sappy smile on his face, they would have mocked him. When it appeared that the group was moving down to the river, this plan spear-headed by a teasing Halo and the ever-playful Heartz, the grullo stallion observed how the new mare turned her attention from the lead stallion to the second-in-command and pursed his lips. That is going to be nothing but trouble... he mused, violet eyes half-hidden behind slitted lids. I can't imagine Halo attempting to fight Canad with his injured limb though. That seems like it would end in disaster. Whuffling to himself, he cropped a mouthful of golden grass before realizing that Dolce was done speaking with Famous and slowly headed back towards him. He saw her wistful look towards the river and was suddenly aware that a thin sheen of sweat was sitting on his skin. The flies...yes, they were now more persistent. Shaking one off his flank and finally swatting it with his tail, he admitted that it was indeed a little on the warm side now.
"Dolce, let's head down to the river. Everyone else is going there, apparently," he laughed.

I looked up, "Thats sounds great." I said with relief. "It's a pretty hot day." I acknowlaged with a glance to the sun. I walked down the hill toward to cool water then turned to wait for Livius.

Stirring his limbs and giving a sigh, Livius ambled over to Dolce's side and continued on past her with a gentle smile.
"Let's see if we can't show the others how to have a water fight, eh? Actually...I've never had a water fight," he said with no small amount of awe in his voice at that realization. "I mean, I had a spring and all near my little hollow up in the mountains, but no one to splash." A rueful smile hung about his face now.
