Cracker trotted alongside Loka and Hillary. ''Who's Laika?'' Cracker asked.

Hillary glared at Cracker "She's a friend. Nowif you'l exuse us we're goingt HOME" she said sticking her nose up.

Cracker put her tail between her legs and whimpered. Cracker crawled along behind Hillary and Loka, now a little frightened of them. 'Why is she so angry? What have I done wrong?' Cracker thought, confused.

Tolvia stood up, embarrassed that she had shown large displays of affection toward Godric. With her tail bristled, she turned on the male and clipped her teeth an inch away from his nose. "I really thought you were hurt! Cruel man, you are" she tutted, then rolled forward and landed on her back in the snow.

Loka smiled at Hillary and then back at Cracker. "Don't look now but they went in here." Loka said before crawling on his belly through the gap and trotted down the hill, standing before Tolvia, Godric and Burnt.

Hillary slid down the hill and wacked into Loka "ouch" she whimpered.

Godric frowned, concerned that he'd really offended her. "Sorry," he said quietly, laying down and "combat-crawling" towards her in the snow. His tone was apologetic. He licked her cheek tentatively, his eyes cautious.

Tolvia rolled on her side, over Godric, with the intention of playfully squashing him. "Oh shush you silly ma-" She snapped her head sideways, and gave a sharp yelp that silenced Loka. She then stared at the hole through which the dogs had come and a whistle escaped through her nostrils. Padding forward, she belly-crawled toward it and peered through. She saw the noose of the pound-man's pole, and froze, knowing noise would only attract his attention. She looked at Loka frightfully and then at Godric, before putting her head down in the snow and waiting. When the man finally turned around and seemed to dissapear, she lurched backward and charged down the snow-hill toward Godric. "We need to move, all of the dogs, now!" She barked. "That was a human, the one that takes dogs away to the pound!" Her fur was still bristled. "I don't know what he heard, but he could well know that we're in here and he'll come for us."

((Let's just say Godric's shoulder's all healed now lmao.))

Godric stumbled to his paws, shaking snow out of his fur. His hackles were raised and his amber eyes were brimming with hostility as he glanced around nervously. "Let's go," he agreed, standing beside Tolvia. He beckoned Hilary and Loka to him with his head, jerking it sideways to indicate they should get out of the open.

Loka's tail fell limp behind him as he scampered toward Tolvia and nuzzled her side for comfort. She gave him a quick lick on the head before crouching. She knew that she could not see over the shrub, but who was to say a human-child or grown-human could not? Trying to give herself a better chance at escaping from the open and into the thickness of the city, she stuck close to the shrub and -- copying his 'mother' -- so did Loka.
