{Cherrypaw} Runs up to Seamist, Wildfang, and the limp, motionless body of her old mentor. My training! Yet that was the last thing that should be on her mind. She wasn't always that fond of her mentor. Now, she gazes down at Bird, water welling up in her eyes. She was so blind to her true feelings. Bird was all she had left. Her mother was gone, wondering some rank of ancestors unknown, and her father she never met. Now she looks at her mentor, sulking. She wished she could treat her more like a mother. Would that insult Seamist? She stare at the beautiful she-cat, eyes dulled in grief. Cherrypaw did not care. "I will walk with you in the ranks of StarClan someday, Bird. And then I will love you infinitely, and never let anything take you away from me. No, not like my old mother did, who stranded me to go fight for my life. I will battle alongside you, and nothing will stop me. I will forever miss you, mentor." She promised under her breath.
{Stormpaw} He padded over to the apprentice den. He would mourn for her later. She didn't want to surround Bird with grief. She would want space for her journey into the stars. He watched on as Cherrypaw, Seamist, WIldfang, and some others mourned for the lost she-cat. "She was a grand mother, mentor, and grand cat in general." He muttered sympathetically. He padded into the den, flopping in his nest. The moss had to be changed, yet he didn't care right now. He wanted to be swirled in the depths of sleep. Cold talons held him to the ground. Finally, rest from the struggles.
{Nidora} She fled back into the forest, wailing. It was too close. She showed gratitude for the ones who caused the distraction from her hiding spot, yet also hatred ran through her when she realized lives had been lost. She yowled for her mother. She would show the best comfort. She would protect her from the deep feeling in which they call life, and maybe, just maybe, Meridian would have spared a piece of prey for her.
{Meridian} Hearing the yowl from her daughter in the distance, she stopped kneading her paws anxiously on the ground and bolted from her hollow tree and bounded for the echo of her daughter's worry. She found her daughter, running. It was like running into a mirror, their pelts and eyes matching. "You're here." Her daughter looked up at her with relieved eyes. "I will avenge you, Nidora. And whoever dare to try touch you will sleep in the stars the next time they close their eyes."
{Greyclaw} The wailing and yowling from the depths of the forest distracted him from his guilt of not helping when he had the chance. He shrugged off the distraction and sat many tail-lengths away from the frail body. He was too ashamed to confront the body. He thought perhaps Bird would be ashamed of him.
