Frostwing listened to all of this, still utterly confused by all of it. Her ears pricked as she heard another cat, and she glanced towards Grinner, eyes narrowed. "Oh StarClan, please don't tell me this cat is your mother or anything." She hissed, ears flat against her head as her tail lashed. A perfectly good hunting patrol with the deputy and leader on it had turned into this. Just Frostwing's luck, her horrible luck. Dear StarClan, why me? She thought bitterly, digging her claws into the ground.

{{Hey guys, so so sorry I haven't been on, it's been really busy but I think, now that it's after Christmas, I'll be on regularly from now on until some other reason to not be. I'm back!}}

Redpaw froze as she heard her name in the ceremony. Wasn't Pineclaw some high and mighty cat who certainly wouldn't want a disabled apprentice? She wondered, and decided to make it out of here and go hunt on her own. She slinked out of the camp, careful not to alert the whole clan who all had their eyes fixed on Eaglestar. She started to pick up her pace though, darting through the forest with the scents she knew so well, especially since she couldn't see. The little she-apprentice stopped abruptly as she inhaled the smell of FOX?? She instantly crouched to the ground, hoping she hadn't been seen, this could be bad. Luckily the foul-smelling animal had not smelled her over the nasty scent of its's own. She then turned tail and fled at top speed towards camp. She got to camp, breathless and realized there were 2 cats standing in front of her, curiosity coming in waves from their pelts. Pineclaw and another cat she didn't recognize.

Grinner did nothing as she mocked with a name that was so simple, and even laughed lightly as his eyes closed for a moment. Just for a moment, he was normal, and then once he opened his red eyes again he stared down Viperpaw, the tom, and the she-cat. He didn't care about how the male glared and bristled his fur like spikes against him, and how the she-cat hissed at him with her white body softly glowing in the sun. He turned his thoughts to Viperpaw who sadly had yet to change eve from their last fight. "Ah, even it concerned your friend Duskpaw's life my little snake? Now, a good friend would listen, and if you prefer not when I go to him I will be sure to tell him all about you," he said with his body turning sideways as his head lifted a bit in the air like he was smelling a flower. He had his tail flat behide him like a board, his ears against his skull, and his pupils small inside his red. He didn't care if a fight would break, because unlike those cats he had a pawn and he would use his moves well on the field. "Now, Viperpaw, come talk to me," he said with his right eye watching her with an evil mock in his eyes.

( Oh, Violet and Ivy. I hope you feel better. And mentors are bonding with apprentice. Grinner and Demon have made an appearance on a small hunting group with three apprentice, a warrior, the deputy, and the leader. Petalfall as made it to camp. Some cats have come upon some loner/rogues/kittypets. Sunpelt is interrogating a so-called intruder. I think that is about it.)

Pebblerun jerked her head around, hearing a very faint growl. She looked back at Lightpaw. If there were cats in the grass, they could sneak up on the she-cat and she didn't know how well her apprentice could fight. The prey can be caught later. She hurried over to Lightpaw. " Lightpaw, come with me. But don't try to be brave. Something is up with Frostwing and Viperpaw, and I don't want anything to sneak up on you." She meowed quickly. Then, she turned and padded back through the grass to where Frostwing was, flicking her tail for Lightpaw to follow. Upon entering the seen, her fur rose. She caught what Grinner said about getting Eaglestar. " There is no need to get our leader. She is already close to us. As for the deputy, she is ready to claw your throat out if you keep up the threats." She growled, her claws sliding out. There was no way this stupid Tom was going to do anything to Viperpaw, Lightpaw, or any other apprentice.

And sure, that could be interesting. She's a bit busy at the moment, though. }

Sunpelt gave a skeptical look. " Are you sure about that? Because I'm from Stoneclan and I don't remember you." He meowed, adding a bit of a growl. " We do not take thieves lightly, either." He added, dodging to the bird.

"I...uh..." stuttered Leah, her fur beginning to bristle with fear. She squeaked involuntarily as he reached for the bird, jumping back. She spun around, paws skidding in the dust, then shot away out of the camp. All she could hear was the beat of her paws against the ground and her heartbeat as she raced away into the grass, the bird held tightly in her teeth.

Pebblerun paused and stood away from Lightpaw. She was still in range to see what her apprentice was doing. Going slow. That is good. No noise and listen to your guts. She thought.

Lightpaw crept closer, and could soon see the rabbit through the grass. She took a few steps closer, freezing as her tail rasped against the ground behind her. The rabbit noticed, too, lifting it's head and sniffing the air. Lightpaw held her breath, hoping it wouldn't detect her. After a moment, the rabbit relaxed--perhaps dismissing the sound as the wind. She carefully lifted her tail, slowly letting her breath out. She was beginning to step forwards when she froze again. The wind had changed, tugging at her fur, and the rabbit would soon scent her. Already her prey looked nervous. She would only have one chance. She leaned down, bunching up her hind legs. As the rabbit's eyes widened and it turned to race away, she leaped. She flew through the air, her fluffy tail streaming behind her. She immediately realized she'd misjudged the distance, landing not on the rabbit but---to the apprentice's surprise--directly in front of it. The rabbit spun around, and so did she. It raced away in the direction she had come from, Lightpaw close on it's tail.

"What's wrong?" demanded Pineclaw, not recognizing her as his apprentice. He stared at her as he waiting for his answer. The first thing he noticed was her eyes--clearly blind. What was a blind cat doing out of camp alone? He wondered. It was dangerous out there, and someone like that wouldn't be able to defend themselves.

{I'm going to say Eaglestar's a little ways off, and hasn't noticed the situation with Viperpaw and the others because of the thick grass. Otherwise she'd already have gotten involved. If I fight breaks out or someone calls for help she'll probably hear.}

Eaglestar watched as Lightpaw and Viperpaw left with their mentors, leaving her alone with Shadowpaw. She looked down at him. "Now, I know you're newer at hunting than the others, so we won't start with an assessment just yet. Why don't you show me your hunting crouch?"

Leopardpaw immediately spun around, her heart pounding. She was determined to please her mentor, this was her motivation. Leopardpaw clumsily stepped back, trying to find a weak spot. She shot forwards, her jaws locking inbetween her neck and shoulder. She hadn't applied pressure.

Miststep grinned. "Good." she said again. "But be careful. You need to focus on defense---" she paused, gently biting at the back of her apprentice's neck, which she'd put within easy reach. "---as much as attack." Letting go, Miststep reached quickly forwards, her paw hooking around Leopardpaw's foreleg and pulling it out from under her. Before the apprentice could react or regain her balance, Miststep twisted away in the opposite direction, then butted her head into her apprentice's shoulder, trying to push her over.

"Come along, then." purred Naomi. With a quick glance over the tops of the grasses---she was tall enough she only had to raise her head--she set off, the bell still ringing on her tail. She glanced back to be sure that Flutterpaw was following.

Littlekit purred in her sleep as she cuddled close to the mothers belly. Coalkit grinned and jumped right over his sister and nipped her tail as he crouched, Bumblekit growled playfully "FOR SUNCLAN!!!" she charged once more tackling her brother as they rolled.

Spiritblaze watched his apprentice and smiled "good, but" he walked over fixing her just a bit "there perfect, rember this stance and the feeling, okay now, what do you smell?"

Swallowpaw followed his mentor with a sigh, he looked around the trees with a small grin. (wb)

( That's fine, Calico. And I didn't mean to put dodging for the rabbit. Stupid iPad. Oh well, I can still work with it. I can also edit my post for Lightpaw.)


Sunpelt gave chase after her, his muscles working hard. Since she was smaller, it was easier to keep up with her. But she could also change course easier. He needed to catch her and end this. As he got closer to her, he bunched his muscle and leapt into the air, aiming for Leah.

Redpaw bit her lip and then turned her head towards wher she was pretty sure Pineclaw was. "Well, I-I just wanted to h-hunt but then I smelled fox." She stammered and lowered her head nervously and waited for punishment. "I'm Redpaw by the way." She added, dragging her paw in the dirt.
