Another flurry of movement caught the hound's eye, and he blinked to see another dog moving towards the one in the sea. Pluto stepped backwards lightly, turning on a dime and making his way back the way he had come. Any company more than one dog was considered a crowd in his eyes, and Pluto limped back along the sand, up onto the rocks again. Not so far away, he spotted a small hut. There was no movement around it- and the hound's mind worked furiously as he weighed up his options. If it were inhabited by humans, he could risk another injury like his shoulder- he was lucky that it hadn't got infected- and that could limit him even further. After all, he only had three working legs.

Pluto gave a great sigh, his ribcage expanding as he puffed himself out, then back in again, his mind clear. He'd go. He needed somewhere to rest, his shoulder throbbed with a steady aching rhythm, and his eyes were heavy with sleep. Pluto slunk towards it, approaching it from the back. A loose board drew his attention, and he shoved his muzzle roughly through the crevice, plying it away from the wall. Bending slightly, he stooped low and scraped at the earth beneath it with his good forepaw. Eventually there was a space big enough for him to slide through. He frowned as his shoulder twinged again. Entering cautiously, his head held high, the hound slipped through the hole.

Jess jumped slightly as she heard the scrape of a hole being dug. She was a light sleeper, and anyway, the noise was coming from a few feet away from where she had been curled up. Blinking wearily, she pulled herself to her paws, stepping back and then forwards again, indecisive on what to do. It sounded like an intruder, but she didn't think she'd have time to wake Gamble and Elena before they were inside.

Seeing the dog slip through the hole, Jess skittered backwards, her paws clattering against the wooden floor boards. She let out a low growl, staring at the dog warily. In the low light, she had no idea whether it was a friend or a foe. But it was big, which usually meant dangerous. She moved forwards again to confront the dog, moving quickly so it would have no chance to strike out at her.

"Maybe..." Keona murmured, and she slowly walked out in a sandy area were she could easily see some small huts and stands ahead. Quite some humans hovered around the area, and it was her biggest chance to try and find some food. She ran after the tracks the many humans have left. She sweet and smelly smells of food wafted around the area, along with perfumes and many human smells. There were kids; teenagers; and adults and elderly all around. And stands with big balloons and signs with pictures stood around. There were people handing out sweet smelling stuff, and maybe that was were she could start.

Slowly, Keona came over to the blue and pink stand with her ears back and tail tucked neatly between her legs. And she sat with a thump in front of the stand. The human was a female; the kind that was always loving and would drool over your looks. "Aww! you shouldn't be here puppy, who do you belong too?" The woman cooed, but Keona didn't get much of what the woman said. So she ripped a whimper and a tail flick. And no sooner did she get a fluffy piece of food thrown at her. When she picked it up in her mouth, it melted in a sweet taste. So she tried again; and it melted. "Great.." she grumbled, just eating it right there.

"E-Explode?" The young fae gasped, and she eyed the hot-dogs. She leaned over and only took one, but she made sure it was juicy and still somewhat warm. She didnt want to risk exploding, and she didnt want to kill her two newer friends. So she gnawed on the hot-dogs edge, the warm scent drifting around and the taste melted onto her small pink tongue. "Have you seen anyone explode?" She asked, her dummy mind drifting to questions. She still chewed on the small red hot-dog, making it last though she was dying to just gobble it up. Maybe even gobble up another few. But she resisted the idea and wanted to keep her internal fluids and organs in one piece.

Almost before Pluto had a chance to regain his balance, a fierce growl reached his ears. Turning his attention to the dog in front of him with a surprised growl of his own, he observed her for a few moments with his golden eyes- storing her face should he need to remember her later. "Cool your snappin', girlie. I ain't gonna hurt ya." He chuckled dryly, breathing out heavily as his shoulder ached dully. As the stranger moved to confront him, the hound stepped back lightly, moving away from her. If she wanted to fight, then sure, he'd give her a fight- but he didn't particularly want to hurt the female, after all, she was just protecting her turf.

"As I said, I ain't here to intrude. You want me to move on, I'll move on." He amended tiredly, lifting his scar-checked muzzle to look her in the eye.

Jess looked at Elena, her eyes widening as she realised she was still awake. "I've only seen one dog explode, it was sad..." She sighed, shaking her head in mock sadness, all the time side-stepping until she was stood in front of her, looking at the intruder. "Keep quiet for a moment, 'kay?" She whispered, turning her head slightly to eye the younger dog.

Jess glared at the dog in front of her, then raised her muzzle, eyeing him. She smiled, dropping her head in a small bow. "If you're tired, you're welcome to stay the night." She gestured with her head towards the hot dogs, "We have food?" She wanted to trust this dog, she'd had enough of growling. She stepped back to stand beside Elena, her tail wagging faintly.

The hound's steady stare found the younger dog beside the other, and he tilted his head with restrained curiosity. When the female stepped in front of her, he peered around for a moment, drinking in her appearence too. It never hurt to have a memory of each dog you meet. You never know if someday it could help you. The stranger's sudden smile alarmed him a little, but Pluto returned it with a careful, hesitant one of his own. Her words almost caused him to whimper with relief. There was only so much sleeping in the open a dog could do in one week, and the hound had pushed the boundaries to darn near uncomfortable.

"Thanks. Been out there for some time now, an' it ain't often you see a dog willin' to share their sleeping place with a stranger. I'm Pluto." He nodded gratefully, keeping his twisted paw tucked close to his chest. He'd never been able to put weight on it, so his gait had always been somewhat limp-like, and simple things like sitting could be an arduous task for him. Easing himself into a half-settled position, Pluto thumped his tail against the floor, cheerful that not only did he have company that clearly would not wish to harm him tonight, but he had shelter from the bright lights and city goings-on for a night.

(I swear I'll post, but my dog dug up a tiny little creature with a pointed nose. It's below freezing here, so I took it in. I'm a sucker, I know. )

Character's Name- Sasha
Age- One and a half.
Breed- Siberian Husky mix.
Personality- Sasha's mother was a husky who belonged to a middle-class family. When Sasha's mother turned up pregnant and her human family was unsure of who the father was, they hoped and prayed that the puppies would be born purebred like their mother so that they could be sold. But when Sasha and her littermates were born, it was obvious that their father had not been a husky - one of her brothers had short fur, and one of her sisters even had spots. So as soon as the puppies were old enough to be weaned, they were dropped off in the middle of the night in a cardboard box in front of the local animal control. Luckily they escaped from the box before morning, and since then she has been living as a stray, surviving out of dumpsters and handouts from sympathetic humans. Sasha has a kind soul, but because she has had to learn to survive on her own from a very young age, she has a rough exterior and can be quite sarcastic and defensive. Deep inside Sasha dreams of being a pampered pet, but her mistrust of humans keeps her from that dream - and she would never tell anyone of her secret wish.

Dakota reached the grass after a while, due to her slow, nonchalant gait. When she reached the peak of a small hill, she gazed down at the cabin and saw Gamble on the porch. She snorted and turned to walk away but something held her there. She sat, gazing over at the cabin and all the grass. Oh, how she'd missed grass. She lifted her paws a little in the thought of home and laid down on the hill, her eyes still watching over the lake. She'd never had much water like that back home, but with this sight, she wished she had.. It was so peaceful and serene. It was no wonder Gamble had protected the place with such a passion.

((Sorry it's such a short post. xD And haha, it's fine Alaskan, I would've done the same thing. And also, sorry about the wait for a post, had to give a kit-kat a bath. <3))
