The pretty black shecat notices Tom's expression. "Hey," she mews, a small, awkward smile on her muzzle. "If you want, I can teach you to hunt later? Get a start on your training?" She licks her whiskers, wiping off any remnants of fish. Most cats didn't like the strong taste or pungent smell, but Cootrunner enjoyed it. And it never hurt to make friends with anycat. Her question glows in her eyes, which are centered on the flame-colored tabby in front of her.

Soaringbird herded Cricketkit and Flamingkit into the nursery, pausing outside to look towards the entrance to the camp. I guess I'll talk to Brackenlake later... She thought before ducking inside, shaking the snow from her pelt before curling around her two daughters in their nest, resting her head on her paws and falling asleep.


Eelmuzzle hobbled out of the elders den and trudged through the snow towards the dirtplace tunnel. He stopped when he reached the entrance when he realized he didn't recognize one of the scents and looked over, seeing Tom eating with Cootrunner. The black tom's whiskers twitched slightly before he shook his head and disappeared into the dirtplace.

Moments later, he came back out and padded over to Tom and Cootrunner. "So your the loner I keep hearing about?" He said, groaning slightly as he crouched down next to them.

Tom nodded his head towards Cootrunner. "That would be nice." He turned to see an older tom, dipping his head. "Why, yes. Yes I am. My name is Tom... You are?" Meeting all these cats is fun and all, but how am I going to keep up? Who was the tom with the she-cat that brought me here? What were those kits names??

Cootrunner smiled. "Hello, Eelwhisker! Would you like some fish?" She gestures to the portion of fish she had left over. She was always happy to share, and she could always get something else later if she was hungry.

Greywing trotted into camp, shaking her pelt out viciously to loosen the snow that had gathered on her back and head. Brr, that's cold. She picked up her paws and shook them, making a slushy snow fly everywhere. That's better. Now, where's Pinepaw? She glanced around, regretting for the upteenth time leaving her apprentice.

"Eelmuzzle." The soot black tom mewed, shifting uncomfortably in his crouch. "Don't mind if I do." He mewed to Cootrunner before taking a bite out of the fish. The old tom winced as he ate. Nearly everything had started to hurt him. It'd hurt when he'd crouch or sit down, it'd hurt when he'd stand up.

"How do you like the clan so far?" Eelmuzzle rasped, raising his bright yellow eyes to look at Tom, chewing slowly.

Tom smiled, keeping his few doubts to himself. "It's great. I think I will be fine and dandy here!" He dipped his head once more to the elder tom, keeping his respect for him. "If I you need help with anything, I'm willing."

Eelmuzzle snickered slightly, swallowing his mouthful of fish. "I can manage on my own." He mewed. "I'd hunt for myself but you young ones won't let me, saying I did enough for my clan and that I should let them take care of me now." The black tom shook his head then looked at Tom.

"Thanks anyway."
