Sunpaw yawned, then looked through the herb stores. She decided to go get some more chamomile, marigold, and a few more cobwebs. She said to Windtail " I'm going to go get some more herbs. I should be back soon." At that, she padded out of the den, seeing Clawpaw and saying " Hey, Clawpaw. I'm going out herb hunting today, and I was wondering if you wanted to come? You could get some prey while we're out." The golden she-cat's fur looked almost grey with the fog, but her eyes shone bright.

Clawpaw nodded and stood up, "It would be good to help stock up the fresh kill, and I bet the elders would be grateful for something nice and fresh" he meowed happily. The young tom moved to pad out of camp, checking if Sunpaw was with him.

Sunpaw said " Ok. I told Windtail I was leaving." She started to pad out of camp, her tail moving back and forth in a relaxed way. Once out of the camp, she waited for Clawpaw to get through.

The blue apprentice padded after Sunpaw, his tail waving as he strode out of the camp. Clawpaw walked beside Sunpaw, purring softly

Sunpaw heard Clawpaw purring, then said " Is there something wrong?" Her whiskers twitched in amusement, noticing he seemed... almost happy. It wasn't sunny out, but foggy, so there was nothing for him to be happy about with the weather...

Glancing over at the golden apprentice he nodded, "I love hunting, it's much easier than fighting" he meowed in reply to her question. Silently adding that he was glad that he was also accompanied by her.

She nodded, then said " Well, I'm going to go see what I can find. There's an old tree over there," She pointed to it with her tail " And I think I've seen a few mice around there." She padded a few tail-lengths away, then started searching for some chamomile.

--------------Birchfrost stepped backwards as commotion filled camp. He pinned his ears back in distress at the sight of Ravenstar soaked with blood. Cats swarmed around and near him like the tide, all the while his eyes were filled with uncertainty and rage.

-------"I trust whoever did this was sent to their ancestors, Leopardfur." he snarled to the deputy, his hackles raised but claws still sheathed. He was furious that his leader had been hurt.

-------"Maybe if you all had done your jobs and followed the warrior code, Ravenstar and Pebblepaw wouldn't be hurt right now." his usually calm, smooth voice was filled with acid as he spat these words at Leopardfur and Pikefang before storming away. He couldn't believe they had been so careless - what if this had been Ravenstar's last life? That mousebrain of a she-cat would've taken over, and Birchfrost knew if that happened the clan would be doomed.

He'd seen fighting before, and blood was nothing new to the tom - but to see cats caring for one another, without promise of a reward, was shocking to him. He thought about helping but realized that the care required was far out of his knowledge range; he would only be in the way.
