Applesong was surprised how quickly Flickerkit escaped the tangles. Even more surprised that she knocked Applesong sideways. Quckly getting up, she looked at her kit. "That was good." She admitted. Though she was proud at how far her kit has come since her birth, she was still a hassle.

Sprucepaw blinked at Duckpond, inclining her head in greeting. "Do you need help with anything?" She asked softly, sitting down in front of her mentor and regarding him with the same calm gaze as usual. She noticed the scattered herbs further back, and wondered what he had been doing with them. The strong scent of chamomile penetrated her nose, making her ears prick up with interest. He seemed to have been busy, she ought to have been assisting. Her diminutive paws flexed on the ground as she awaited his response.

He nodded curtly and watched Drop out of the corner of his eye. He yawned, wondering when they'd pass a patrol. He didn't scent any.

Rainpaw's eyes sparkled, and her tail curled and swished around her paws as she gazed at Brambleheart. "Oh yes..." She breathed, her thoughts bubbling and churning with withheld excitement. She preferred fighting over hunting, and was always more ready to do that than the other. She felt like her battle moves came much more naturally than her hunting ones did. Her ears pricked and fur fluffed out slightly, she shifted from paw to paw, eager to begin.

Sprucepaw licked her chest fur as she sat quietly in the shadows of the medicine cat den. Her eyes scoured her surroundings, flicking from one cat to the next as they bustled about camp. She could hear the soft mutterings of her mentor behind her, deeper in the den. Sprucepaw had a sudden guitly though that she should be working with him. After all, she had been up since dawn and hadn't done a single bit of her duties. Thankfully, no cat was currently injured or sick, so there were no major tasks to be done. But she completely understood the importance of the smaller ones, and chastised herself for not being with Duckpond as soon as he awoke. She flicked her tail and rose to her paws, slipping deeper into the den. Her small, pale form padded over to her mentor, teal eyes glowing in the dimmer light.

Brambleheart chuckled a little at his eager apprentice. He crouched down low, and his tail swayed from side to side. His eyes never left hers. "Always make sure you're weight is distributed evenly. You may have heard this from me a million times while we were hunting, but the same goes for fighting too. Use your tail. It's there for balance. Besides making sure you're not leaning on any side, you need to also make sure to be lighton your feet; a quick fighter is a smart fighter. Once your enemy leaps towards you, you either have to slide under, or jump away, besides jumping up to meet him in the air. For all those options, you got to act as light as a feather," he instructed.

((yeah guys, seriously if u see someone ask for a recap, say SOMETHING. Sorry if I missed it :( but anyway, there were a couple rogues spying on Spiderstar's patrol (right?) who are patroling the twolegplace border. Jaystripes patrol is hunting near the thunderath, Flickerkit is playing with Applesong in the nursery (which I cant reply to now) and Duckond and Sprucepaw are sorting herbs in the medicine cat den. Hey pheonix, if no one gives you a recap after a few times, just jump in, someone will say somethin :3))

Rainpaw nodded as her mentor spoke, trying to take in all he said. She was beginning to calm, and set herself in attentive mode. She curled her tail up and pricked her ears to Brambleheart, thoughts focusing on his words. She matched his crouch, her paws slowly kneading the leafy forest floor. "I'm ready." She meowed, determination echoing through every syllable. Nothing like a fun training bout between she and her mentor. She flexed her paws on the ground, tail tip twitching.
