Pineclaw stared, brows furrowed. "What's gotten into you, Boulderstride?" he asked, a low growl in his voice. He glanced towards Echostep as she said she was confused. You're not the only one, he thought. Echostep whispered her question in his ear, and his eyes widened. "I...no!" he replied, horrified. His mate, Foxstar, had died not two moons ago! How could she think he'd abandon her so soon? "My heart belongs to Foxstar." he growled. "Always will."

Miststep rolled quickly to her paws. With a flick of her tail, she leapt over the apprentice, landing behind her. Not the best tactic in the situation, but a good way to test Leopardpaw's reaction speed.

Boulderstride hated it when others were mad at her or hated her so she stalked off laying down alone

Pineclaw watched as Boulderstride stalked off without a word, thoroughly confused and newly heartsick for Foxstar. He sighed. "No idea what that was about." he grumbled, half to himself.
"...Well, glad to have you back, Echostep." he said after a moment, though he didn't sound very enthusiastic. "I...I should be finding my apprentice." he added, turning to leave.

"It's alright." said Lightpaw with a smile. "And I've learned a bit from training. Tried to teach myself, too, after the fire." her smile faded slightly as she mentioned it, but she tried to stay happy. There was no point dwelling on it.

"You're lucky you could even try to teach yourself. The best thing I could do was catch a mouse but I've only succeeded one time. And, that time, the mouse was so stuffed from its food that it couldn't even move." Shadowpaw mutters under his breath. He wasn't much use to the clan, unfortunately, and he hated that. But he knew now that he was going to become a great warrior, and was proud to be Eaglestar's apprentice. The tom gets a little sidetracked, still anxious to know where their destination would be. He overhears Eaglestar suggesting to head towards the last makeshift camp, and inside, Shadowpaw had such a stupid, wide grin on his face. But, he didn't want to spoil it for Viperpaw or Lightpaw, so he kept his thoughts to himself. "I wonder what we will learn first. I hope it's hunting." he says, a bit dreamily.

Leopardpaw immediately spun around, her heart pounding. She was determined to please her mentor, this was her motivation. Leopardpaw clumsily stepped back, trying to find a weak spot. She shot forwards, her jaws locking inbetween her neck and shoulder. She hadn't applied pressure.

Cloudstrike kept walking. As he heard Falconpaw getting closer, he paused in the forest. " So, what do you smell, Flaconpaw?" He asked.

((Don't forget, they aren't in the forest, they're surrounded by tall grass :3))

Falconpaw

Falconpaw's tail lashed and she glared furiously at Cloudstrike. Did he think she just turned six moons old? How condescending, she was already eleven moons old! "I'm not some kit out of the nursery! Foxstar already taught me how to scent!" She spat angrily, digger her claws into the dirt. Remembering what Spiderpaw had said, she took a deep breath to scent the area. If the idiot wanted her to smell the air, then she'll smell the air like a boss. "I smell tons of dusty dirt, this stupid tall grass, some birds not to far away, the faint scent of mice, and the river that's close by." She listed proudly. She glanced around, there was not much the see when there was tall grass everywhere. By the time they reached the forest, she was going to permanently had the color gold, or anything close to it.

( Oh, yeah. I'm just so used to it being a forest.)

Cloudstrike rolled his eyes. " I just wanted to make sure the smoke didn't affect to nose too much. Besides, in the tall grass, you have to rely more on smell and hearing than anything else." He meowed. " Now, why don't you try to hunt something?" He suggested.

Pebblerun nodded. " That sounds like a good idea. Shall we head off?" She asked. She gave a quick glance to the apprentices, who seemed to be getting along. That was good. It would make it easier for them to be quiet, yet still add that bit of competition to be the best.

Spiritblaze looked at the shecat sadness in his eyes, he felt bad for the shecat untill she lifted his spirits(lol) with her saying she finally had a mentor, he nudged her softly "well im glad i have a fun and bouncy apprentice like you" he chuckled before looking ahead thinking of his dead mate and how she laughed along with her smile.

Songbrook laughed alittle,"Normaly, I'm really not bouncy." She stop for a moment and said to the tom,"Is this a good spot to start hunting?" She asked.

Frostwing nodded and figured that since no one else was moving, she would. Her paws prickled from the nerves of leading a patrol with such important cats on it, but she tried to shake it off. These cats were once warriors like herself, and they both understood and were loyal to the warrior code. She hoped that the monster wouldn't return, and figured that would be good for the apprentices. "Keep your senses focused, we need to make sure that the monster isn't anywhere near. Also tell us what you scent out here." She meowed, taking in the scents that surrounded the area they were walking. She hoped the apprentices didn't feel annoyed by her choice of words.

Echostep watched him and purred "your so loyal" she nuzzled him "it was good to see you old friend, whos the leader?" she asked wanting to know before he left and looked around the camp "ah so this has all the other clan cats all in one...."
