Miststep didn't speak immediately, looking over the clearing with soft blue eyes. She began to circle it, testing the moss with her paws. She paused, flicking a jagged stone out of the hollow. She completed the circle, and finding nothing else, sat down. She wrapping what was left her tail around her paws, she looked up at Leopardpaw. "No two cats fight exactly the same way." she began. "We all have different strengths and weaknesses. To begin, we'll have to find out what yours are." She got to her paws, then slipped into a fighting crouch. "I'm a rogue, and I've attacked you while you're hunting alone. What do you do?"

Leopardpaw watched her carefully, her mind was empty. What would I do? she repeated in her mind countless times. She faught purely on instinct, how could she predict what her actions would be. Leopardpaw hesitantly mimicked her mentor's crouch. She wandered if it would be easiest to scream for help. How weak and stupid.. she thought to herself. Leopardpaw uneasily took a step towards her, but then moved back. Suddenly she leapt into the air, trying to create a suprise attack. Leoapardpaw landed at her side, by her flank. She then pounced on her back, grabbing at her throat with only her paws, not claws.

(If it's cool with Calico, Crookedtail would be her mentor, and is it okay if Silverkit(paw) comes with Crookedtail and Emberflight to hunt?)

{It's fine with me, but you'd have to wait a day or so, RP time, for the ceremony. Silverkit could come with them, but she'd still be a kit at this point, if an apprentice-aged one.}

Boulderstride mewed angrily hating to be interupted so she pushed Echostep away to try and talk to Pineclaw.

Echostep blinked as she was shoved and frowend "d-did i do something wrong?" she mewed, she was happy to see a lost friend but...was this his mate?! "oh god im so sorry i didnt know" she chuckled half heartily.

Caught by surprise, Miststep stumbled, falling forwards slightly under the apprentice's weight. "Good," she said approvingly, steadying herself. Without warning, she rolled to the side, hoping to unbalance Leopardpaw.

"It's alright." said Lightpaw with a smile. "And I've learned a bit from training. Tried to teach myself, too, after the fire." her smile faded slightly as she mentioned it, but she tried to stay happy. There was no point dwelling on it.

Eaglestar nodded in agreement. "Why don't we go in the direction of the last camp? We'll see what we can find along the way, and while we're there we can see if there's anything we can recover." she suggested.

Pineclaw stared at Echostep. The she-cat seemed so...happy for one who had just lost her kits. But he supposed they all dealt with grief differently. And it must be a relief for her, to find that she was not alone in surviving the fire. Echostep jumped on him again, and this time he tolerated it. That was when Boulderstride came in, pushing the other she-cat away. "What's wrong?" he asked, confused at Boulderstride's hostility towards their clan mate. He looked from her to Echostep as the she-cat spoke. "You--" he began again, only to be interrupted by Boulderstride. He fell silent, staring at the two of them as if they were crazy.

Boulderstride looked at Pineclaw and her ears flattened and she dipped her head submitting to him, "I am sorry".

Leopard paw stumbled over, rolling with the cat. She got to her feet quickly, raising her paw protectively.

Echostep just sat there "im so confused what just happend..." she padded over to Pineclaw and whisperd in his ear "is she your mate?" she asked completely confused to what was going on, she could tell the shecat was protective from the force of the push she was given from her.

A flirty smile crossed the she-cat's face as she darted from branch to branch, leaving the thoughts of Lynxfur behind. Her eyes sparkled brighter, and she crouched silently as the scent wafted from a notch in the tree. Sparrow...
Emberflight, part of her name showing through, took a flying leap and landed on a branch at least a fox-length's away, her plumed tail streaming behind her. She landed with her claws dug into the back, and the Sparrow fluttering it's last movements in her mouth before falling limp. "How's that for being like a squirrel?" She teased in the usual flirty tone, making her way towards him by hopping from one branch to another.

Crookedtail purred in satisfaction as he watched her kill the bird swiftly. He panicked when she jumped, but was relieved to see her land safely on a branch. Something about Emberflight made him smile. " Not bad..for a squirrel." He teased, skipping a few fox lengths ahead of her on the ground.
