Shadow That Dances at Night
Shadow halted mid-step when the question was asked of him. The tip of his tail twitched with slight annoyance; he preferred to hunt in complete silence. He slowly turned around to face Fading once more, and his seething green eyes narrowed as if he was trying to read her thoughts. Alas, it was merely his way of trying to discover what her motive behind asking the question was. Asking the name of an individual could be random gossip, speaking of old tales and better days, or it could bring up harsh remembrances of foul misconduct and tyranny. In Shadow's case, however, he did not bother to learn the names of most of his followers. His mind remembered faces and the individual looks of fear, but never their titles. "I have been leader of the rogue group for many moons. Felines come and go as they please at points. If there ever was a "Fang" in my midst, I probably would not have noticed." The name rang a slight bell in the back of his mind, but he shrugged it away as it being a common name among theives and murderers. "Why do you ask?" he stated in a harsher tone. Shadow was used to being the one asking questions. Only close acquaintances of his had the courage to ask him random questions, and even then, they were able to distinguish when he was in friendly moods.

"It was no problem at all, for sure --" she stated in response, glancing down at her paws to hide her blush due to the compliment. It was not often that a more experienced member of the tribe rewarded her for something. When they closed the distance between camp and their former position, Flower shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly in approval of Ice's decision to stay out of their conversation. "If you say so!" She never gave that much thought when strolling up to others. It was a strange occurrence to her that she might actually be interrupting something important. The apprentice sat back on her haunches, staring idly at the Freshkill pile as if debating whether she should hunt for something or take a piece now. Her ears, without thinking, tuned in towards Light's conversation, eager to know what "super secret" stuff they might be talking about. Unfortunately, all she heard was mumbled bits and pieces from across the clearing. Flower did not know Riptide that well. She had never taken the time to strike up a conversation with the sailor. "Tell me how it goes. I would not mind helping with the investigation too . . . if I would be of any use that is." Flower cast her look away, pressing her forelimbs to her chest stiffly. Crow would be a better option for helping on the Tempest case after all.

It was almost time for dinner. "Shall I go grab something to eat for all of us?" she offered to the group, not noticing Feather's uneasiness towards Flame being missing.
