She smiled at the cats and let the moss under her chin fall to the ground. "Well met, I'm Songpaw." She nodded respectfully to the other cat and turned back to the young tom, meeting his striking blue gaze. "Are you an apprentice too?" Sbe asked.

Foxpaw was amused by her, "Well, seeing as I have the suffix, -Paw in my name, I think I am!" He joked, shooting her a sly, boyish grin, "But the same, nice to meet you..." He added. Twilightpaw stepped forward, "Yeah we are..." He added to the conversation. Foxpaw shook his pelt, the thick fibres groomed by long rhythmic strokes.

Her ears reddened in embarassement. "Of course you are, duh. I mean, why wouldnt you be. Err, nevermind." She slapped a paw to her forehead. "Anyways...the pleasure's all mine. As you can tell, im new. My brother Hawkpaw is too." She smiled tentatively.

Foxpaw smiled, amused by her stuttering under his words and gaze, "It's ok," he said gently, "Me and Twilightpaw grew up here, I know the place like the back of my paw!" he replied, "I could probably show you around?" he added as more as a question than statement. He tilted his head blue eyes turning on the entrapment level, as he awaited her answer.

She looked over at Wildfire and turned back to Foxpaw. "Sure, but I need to drop these off" she prodded the moss with her paw. She scooted on the ground to gather up the moss then walked off to put it in a pile near the dens. She trotted back. "Okay."

Foxpaw watched her go and turned to her when she had finished her duties, "Right so, you know about how the camp works?" he began, "I'll take you to a couple of good places that are worth seeing..." he explained, grinning like a kit. He had a tendency to grin like that, it was part of what made people love him.

"Yeah, I know how the camp works. I'll follow you." She grinned back at him happily. She was glad she had met some other apprentices, while on the road, the other cats their age she and her brother had met had been defensive and often were openly hostile. The two young toms with her now were certainly a welcomed change. She licked her paw to clean it of dirt and stood up, eager to go exploring.

Foxpaw smiled, "Then off we go!" he laughed, trotting off with his tail held high. He led her along a path to an obscure lake, just on the edge of the territory, "Well, welcome to Fox's cove!" he smiled, splashing her with water. The water was blue and pristine, trees loomed over the water like a concerned parent. This place was beautiful, "I found this as a kit!" he explained.

She felt he jaw drop in amazement. "It's beautiful!" Her eyes scanned the scenery and she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath of the pine needle scented air. She opened her eyes in surprise and licked the water from her muzzle before dipping a paw into the shallow edge of the sparkling water and splashing him back, laughing.

Foxpaw laughed. He bounded up onto the grassy verges that banked the water and stood next to her, "I know!" he whispered, also in awe of the place. He suddenly retracted from the trance that held their paws, and nudged her, "Come on! Places to discover and bossy mentors to impress!" he laughed bounding off.
