She sent a wary glance at the stranger, then quickly snapped her gaze back to Flintfoot. "Don't provoke him." She hissed.

Yet again, Flintoot didn't listen. " Oh, what danger you'll be in if you take his life. " He mewed softly, his eyes shining with un-identified emotion. " But, if you take my life, no harm shall come to you. " The Tom murmured, still lightly smirking.

She resisted the urge to push his muzzle into the ground. "He will be in danger if he harms you or Pineleap." She growled lowly in his ear. "Just shut up, OK?"

Snorting, he faced Flamewing. " Would you rather die? A loyal deputy, ready to become the next leader? I just a warrior, leave me be. " He snarled, eyes flaring with anger and love.

"Yes, I would rather die!" She snapped, her eye twitching. "Because a loyal leader, and deputy, would lay their life down for their clan! Not let a Warrior do it! Because they are the future of the clan!"

Flintfoot held her gaze gently. " I love you, and I mean that. But you should keep your life, for the sake of Riverstorm. " He meowed proudly, but weakly. More quietly, he added. " Kestrelflame will be fine, she has Pineleap. "

He eyes quivered, her eyes beginning to feel foggy. "But... You can't give up your life!" She bit down on her lip, trying to prevent herself from crying. She constantly sent glances over her shoulder at the enemy, wanting to make sure he wouldn't do anything rash. 'Why can't I say anything to make him change his mind? Is... Is he really serious?'

Kestrelflame looked at the two lovers. “Dad...just take me. And when you do, never come back.” She whispered faintly, tears in her eyes. I knew he didn't love me. She thought. She went limp, giving up completely. Snake {I think that's his name >-<} smirked and threw Pineleap aside, jumping to his daughter. Before anyone could say anything, he grabbed her by the scruff and bounded away.

Flintfoot eyes clouded with sudden fury and rage as Snake bounded away with Kestrelflame. " Stop! " He yowled viciously. No one has ever seen him this mad. Dispite his injured back legs, he attempted to race after them.

Snake bunched his muscles and shot forward with a sudden burst of speed and ran through the forest, Kestrelflame hanging limply in his grasp.
