Tolvia staggered to a hault, but her momentum carried her forward and she ended up doing a front flip and landing on her back in a pile of snow. She rolled onto her side and lay stunned for a moment, then recovered by wriggling up onto her paws and charging back to Godric, then back to Burnt, and back again. She was racing, skidding on the snow, kicking it up as she went. She looked like an overgrown pup but she didn't care, it was fun.
Loka was less interested in the snow, moreso in the food. He scoffed a few mouthfulls of beef down and then lifted his head. He was listening, his head tilting in that trademark canine way that humans were so fond of. "Oh..." He listening for a few moments more and then he barked loudly, a booming bark so full of aggression that any small animals nearby would have started running as soon as they heard it. "NO!" He barked, and then he started running, an orange blur as he pumped his legs down the sidewalk and skidded to a hault on the icey kerb. "STOP MOVING!" He barked across the road, staring at the dog that was Cracker. He didn't know her name, but he could smell what was around the corner. "OI! SHE-DOG!" He barked. The cars slowed to a stop and the light turned red, so Loka charged across the road and pretty much tried to take Cracker down as he fell onto his side. "Why are you over here? Cant you smell that dog-catcher?" Hopelessness. Depression. Constricting fear. That was what he smelled like. But most of all, he stunk of death.
"He's not even a few meters away and you cant smell him, really?" Loka snapped. He was angry, angry that a dog would throw oneself into the hands of that cruel human. "Follow me unless you actually wanted a one way ticket to the pound." He barked, slowly and quietly walking away.

you took me into your arms
you taught me to smile, be brave
you were my teacher, my lover, my life
but one day, you shot me down
and i never got back up
