Cloudchaser burst into camp, excitement evident in her eyes. "Hey guys, you know how I found that bird? Well it's actually a bird with a nest of eggs! I took an egg out, see?" Cloudchaser rolled out a beautiful blue egg with green spots. "It's bluejay egg! And when the bird hatches, I'm gonna train it as my pet, I'll teach it to find food for us!" Cloudchaser jumped up and down. " isn't it a great idea?"

His ears flick a bit, glancing at Leopardpaw before focusing his blue eyes back on the young warrior. "But we can't feed them, we don't know how to hunt worms for them or if they'll even eat those in the first place. Not to mention, birds are prey, not apprentices." He doubted any sensible warrior would lay around and no nothing when there were birds pirched in camp; especially if they died of starvation.

Cloudchaser looked at him for a minute before mewing her response. " I know where to get worms, there are a whole bunch by the river bed. Plus, birds eat worms or any other bugs which aren't hard to find." Cloudchaser turned from Piketail and stuck her nose in the air. "And I'll have you know that if it does come to where we ARE starving, I will not hesitate to kill the bird and give it to my clan mates, I care about them more than a bird."

Cinder finally lets go, leaping back a foxtail or so. She was now feeling exhausted, they had been fighting for a while now. However, she wasn't going to let the tom think she was giving up, so she gets into a defensive position, waiting for the tom to attack.

She was about to reply to Piketail's teasing, when suddenly Cloudchaser almost ran into them in her excitement and started explaining something about a bluejay hunting for them if she taught it. Leopardpaw only half-listened to the warrior, lowering her gaze to the ground. She wasn't very comfortable with cats always interrupting the conversation, even if she did like Cloudchaser.

She was sounding more like a twoleg with such mouse brained ideas, doubting she'd even be able to keep the other cats from eating the eggs. "Mouse-brain, we're cats not birds. Starclan didn't give us wings for a good reason..." He half growls, finding it a waste of time to try and change that stubborn cats mind. "Anyway..." Changing the subject to silence as he drops off his kill in the pile, wondering if a pitiful shrew looked any good beside the fish and birds already there.

Cinder relaxes, watching the tom leave. "Bye bye!" She calls after him as she watches him leave. She wasn't planing on meeting him at midnight, or ever. She just heads back to her tree for a nap, a long nap past midnight.

She followed close behind Piketail and also dropped her squirrel onto the fresh-kill pile. She didn't try to start up the conversation again, her gaze still lowered. But eventually she decided that it wasn't worth getting upset about so she lifted her head and smiled warmly at Piketail.

Sighing slightly, he wonders if Cinder was still wandering around the territory. At least she seemed to have her thoughts straight unlike someone else, it would easy to get along with her. "I'll see you around, be sure to get those scratches looked at." Knowing the small ones could get infected just as easily as deep ones, but it was best not to continue pestering her. His head at shoulder height, the tom separates himself from apprentice for the time being. Maybe he was sick or something, not feeling himself?
