Pharaoh turned his head sharply, looking wideyed at the queen and at the sandwing. "W-w-what?!?" Pharaoh sputtered. "Is that true?!?" Sidewinder didn't reply, instead growling down at Foreseer. "Bite your tongue-" "IS. THAT. TRUE," Pharaoh demanded, wiping blood off of his face with his talons. The scales around his eye cavity were starting to swell, and it wouldn't be long before they closed over it and made it bulge out. But he would bear the scars forever... Just like... Just like the sandwing... Sidewinder slowly turned her head to look at Pharaoh, staying silent, wanting to let him figure it out. She had suspected that from the sandwing. After all, when her tribe had chased her out and threatened to kill her unborn dragonet, she had buried it near the stronghold, knowing it could survive with the coming of the prophecy. But Sidewinder hadn't expected to ever reunite with Pharaoh, especially not after she had been captured by Foreseer. She turned back to the nightwing, pressing her talons into the space just below her head. She pressed harder and harder, bringing her chin upwards, as her gaze grew cold. "Don't make me kill you, Foreseer," Sidewinder growled.

Wrethen hesitated, then, without warning, raised a single talon and raked it across Bayou's neck scales. Small beads of blood blossomed along his warm brown scales, and Wrethen ran his talon across them, picking them up. He held them up to his snout, licking the dark blood off of his talons with his forked tongue, then he closed his eyes and relaxed, tasting the warm blood in his mouth. He breathed in and breathed out for around ten seconds, then he snapped his eyes open and his jaw unhinged, like a snake's, as he started hissing. He narrowed his eyes, which were burning brighter than ever, then inhaled. (You have no idea how awkward this is to write, I mean honestly XD) Sucking the soul out of someone was just as it sounded; taste their blood, and inhale. Most souls were stubborn, and those were the ones that were more painful. Those were the ones that didn't want to leave. Others departed immediately, and the victim died a painless death. But it did not seem like this would be one of those times.

Alright, gotta go, cya tomorrow!

Bayou shut his eyes, standing tall and tensing his muscles as he prepared for whatever horrible thing Wrethen would do. He winced slightly as the hybrid made a cut along his neck, but didn't move otherwise or open his eyes. Then he felt a sensation inside him, like his blood was being sucked out of his own body, devoiding him of warmth. Finally the MudWing's eyes snapped open, his pupils shrinking to slits, and opened his jaws in a piercing roar. He fought against the feeling, slowly collapsing to the ground on his knees.
wordBayou shut his eyes again, gritting his teeth, and tears streamed down his cheeks. He didn't want to leave them. He wanted to protect them. But he was protecting them, and he had. Forcibly he opened his eyes, gazing up at Wrethen, and smiled softly, then over his shoulder at Pharaoh.
    word"Goodbye, Pharaoh."
wordAfter those words, the MudWing closed his eyes, falling to the ground. Finally, the pain was washed away. A soothing stillness. Ahead, there was nothing but darkness with two bright red eyes, but he let it take him away.

Foreseer shifted under the large SandWing, glaring daggers into Sidewinder's one good eye. Then she chuckled, ignoring the growing pain in her neck and side. "Well. You're not denying it, so it must be true. I must say-" She was abruptly cut off by a loud roar, and snaked her head around to turn her bright gaze to Wrethen. He had his jaws unhinged, eyes burning brightly as the MudWing below him crumpled to the ground. It was only a rumor.. Was Wrethen really doing a soul exchange? Why would a MudWing they barely knew sacrifice himself? She had seen a few visions with his happening.. Of course. That was how Snowstorm, unfortunately, lived.
wordForeseer quickly glanced back at Sidewinder, eyes narrowed. "Look, there's really something I must do-" The queen cut herself off and lunged upward, wrapping her talons around the former SandWing queen's throat. Her gold eyes burned maliciously, and she tightened her grip, slowly grinning. Having her gone would definitely ease the prisoner load. And she wouldn't have to have Sidewinder complaining in her cell all the time.

At this point, there was so much going on that Pharaoh was having a hard time processing it. He fell to the ground, wrapping his talons around his horns, glancing around wildly. What was he supposed to do? Help his... Mother? Or go help Snowstorm after Wrethen finished the exchange thingy? "M-M-Mom?!?" Pharaoh stuttered, watching Foreseer wrap her talons around Sidewinder's neck. God, it was so weird to say that word! And if she WAS his mother, why'd she leave him? Why wasn't he, Pharaoh of the sandwings, with his own tribe?

Sidewinder let out a loud hacking cough when Foreseer grabbed her throat and she released her own hold on the queen's neck, grabbing her wrists in her talons and trying to keep her from snapping her neck. Sidewinder narrowed her eyes, hissing, but stood her ground. She rattled her barbed tail against the rocky shore, but from what she could see, Foreseer had already been cut open by Pharaoh's own barb. With luck, she'd keep the queen busy... Hopefully long enough for the poison to finish her off. But their venom didn't work that fast, and although the prophecy had stated that the sandwing had venom like no other, she wasn't sure if that was true. "Pharaoh," Sidewinder rasped, glaring heatedly down at Foreseer. "Go... Help... Your... Friend!" Pharaoh stared at Sidewinder, wide-eyed. "But what about-" But he cut himself off. Pharaoh got up, whirling back around to face Wrethen, who was staring at him curiously. "You know, if she dies, there's always- "SHUT IT!!!" Pharaoh snapped, narrowing his eyes. There was a milky white mist surrounding Wrethen's jaws, like he was trying to eat some sort of freakish white silhouette. Pharaoh tried to avoid staring at it as it licked around the hybrid's lips, knowing that it was likely Bayou's soul. He shuddered, Wrethen turning away from him and slithering over to the still form of Snowstorm, while Pharaoh looked at the dead mudwing. He slowly slunk to his side, putting his talons down on his chest, but there wasn't a heartbeat. There were no wounds. The death had been so painful, but there was no evidence as to what had truly happened. Pharaoh crouched over the corpse, tears coming back to his eyes again as he twined his barbed tail around Bayou's. It was cold.

Wrethen sniffed the air again, picking up on Snowstorm's soul, which was still flickering brightly in the warm air. That was what happened with the dead; their souls were forced completely out of their bodies, instead bouncing around in the area close by, watching their owners' corpse. But after twenty-four hours, they went up and up and up into the sky, and melted away into nothing. He exhaled, Bayou's soul dripping from his fangs until it fell to the ground. At first it did nothing, instead moving around like a white shadow. But when it brushed up against the icewing, it slowly seeped into her scales as Wrethen hunted down Snowstorm's original. He knew that her heart was fighting to beat again, but without her own, it wouldn't work. Either one by itself wasn't strong enough to bring back the dead. You needed both.

Hope cried out in pain and blacked out. She found herself in a nightmare. Her friends were laying on the ground dead, with Queen Foreseer and the beast watching her. "You caused this. You were too weak to fight for them. You're just a lazy RainWing."
Go home. Oops. You have none because your tribe did nothing to fight back when I took over." Foreseer taunted. Hope roared in fury and lunged at her, remembering it wasn't real when her talons harmlessly went through the black scales. She bit her front arm, hoping the pain would wake her. Succeeding, she opened her eyes to see gray. Rocks were on top of her and she couldn't get out. Dots danced in her vision from the blood loss, but she pushed them away and gritted her teeth, using her tail to grip onto rock pieces. She yanked a rock out and it caused the ones on top to tumble down, making an opening as small as a scavenger. She lay in silence for a while, breathing heavily in exhaustion and pain. Changing her position to lay on her back, she pushed out with her back legs and hit the rocks. Pain rippled up her legs and across her body, but she continued to do so until the whole ceiling was gone. She managed to create a hole large enough for her to squeeze through. Looking around, she spotted the massive dragon on the shore. Opening her wings, she flapped them and fell to the ground as she looked at her wings. One of them had a huge gash in it and the other was torn. Gritting her teeth, she walked towards the shore, limping as the cut on her back leg continued to bleed. She slowly made her way to the shore and noticed Snowstorm laying on the ground along with Bayou, the MudWing who had helped them. Limping over to Pharoah. "What happened?" She coughed as her voice cracked.

[ooc: I don't even know if she died or not because I don't know if the fall was big. If she didn't die, well she's probably going to die of her wounds if sunny intended for her to. Also, I am coming back from India today and I will be more active after my jet lag lessens.]

the queen continued to wrestle with sidewinder, pain beginning to pulse from her side wound. it was working twice as fast as a regular sandwing scratch, and she had gone through plenty of those taking the kingdom of sand. her gold eyes snapped to pharaoh, a soft hiss escaping her jaws as foreseer eyed the citrine necklace he had barely taken off. if her spies were right, it cured any scale injury, and possibly the fast-working venom inching through her system. with a surge of energy, foreseer lunged forward, slammed the former sandwing queen with her hind legs, then whirled to pharaoh, charging to the smaller sandwing. the queen burst forward, talons extended, and attempted to grab the chain. she wouldn't die. she wouldn't. she would convince wrethen to make her immortal, invulnerable. or snowstorm, more likely, once the icewing woke up. then foreseer would gladly kill the dragonet; the one who had caused all this trouble. and the rest, of course. they were just as bad as their 'leader.'

✘ SIDEWINDER ✘ ☀ PHARAOH ☀
SandWing ✘ Female ✘ Ex-Queen/Loner ✘ Tags- Everyone SandWing ☀ Male ☀ Chosen ☀ Tags- Everyone

Sidewinder felt all of the wind knocked out of her when Foreseer's hind legs kicked her stomach hard into the stones. She doubled over, collapsing onto her side. Blood was pouring from her neck, her gut twitching and wrenching. She was glad she hadn't eaten anything in a while. She sealed her good eye shut, breathing heavily, blood gurgling in her throat. The scarred old SandWing queen wasn't sure if her injuries were enough to finish her off... But she knew that death was lapping at her bloodstained talons.

Sidewinder glanced over at Pharaoh and Foreseer when she lunged at her son. Pharaoh hadn't expected it, of course. He hadn't WANTED to leave his mother alone to deal with the most powerful queen in Pyrrhia. He... He didn't know what he wanted with his mother. To yell at her for abandoning him? To thank her for his fate... Thank her for meeting Snowstorm in his life?

But the minute he felt Forseer's talons hook onto the necklace bearing the citrine gemstone, he knew that he shouldn't have left his mother after all. He shouldn't have stopped to wait for Snowstorm to wake up. He shouldn't have stopped to sit beside Bayou's corpse... As if that had done anyone any good. Bayou wasn't up in the sky to watch him pay his respects, to thank him. He was being crushed beneath Wrethen's fearsome teeth. But it was too late now.

"Gah! Let GO OF ME!!!" Pharaoh roared, stabbing his barbed tail at her scales again and again, willing her to DIE. It was the only way. If she got her claws on the necklace... She could heal herself. She could bring herself back. Possibly make Wrethen enchant her into something unstoppable, if he was really that devoted to her.

However... Deep down... That wasn't the REAL reason why he didn't want her to touch the necklace. It was because Snowstorm had given it to him. Him only. Because she cared about him... Because in her eyes, he was more than just 'that one SandWing.' He was more than just the dragon who ticked everyone off. He...

He didn't know what he was, to her... He only could say, with dignity, that it was something more. He clawed at her talons, hoping to bash them away, his one eye narrowed in pure fury. "GET AWAY FROM ME!!! MOM!!!" He didn't need to look at Sidewinder to know that she was hurt. He could tell when she didn't come help him. He didn't dare think of her as dead. He refused to see it, to even think it. His mother couldn't die, not after they had just met.

☠ WRETHEN ☠
Mud/Sand/Sky/Sea/Rain/Ice/NightWing ☠ Male ☠ Old Legend ☠ Tags- Everyone

Wrethen could hear the commotion behind him, and a new soul had been added to the mix; Sidewinder's. Yes, it was there... But the smell was faint. She was still alive, still breathing, still fighting to make her heart beat. And he could pinpoint the location of the faint scent; inside of her. So yes, she was alive, then. But so close to death... There was always an exchange that could be made, but he couldn't see anybody here worthy of making the trade, other than the rainwing who had entered the scene, perhaps.

He finally located Snowstorm's soul. He breathed in through his nostrils, drawing it in closer. It struggled, fought against him as he reared up and bit down on its retreating tail. Immediately, the invisible shadow lit up in a flash of white light, illuminating the surrounding area. The light subsided to a dull glow, the soul flickering and twisting and writhering in his jaws, trying to break his hold, but it didn't do any good. It didn't have a grip on reality; all Wrethen felt from biting down on souls was an icy chill, like misty frost.

Wrethen slithered over to Snowstorm's still form, smelling Bayou's soul within it, a bit stunned and not really moving around much. It was slowly spreading to cover the inside of her body, every nook and cranny and every space it could shove itself into between her intestines. He bent his head, then exhaled, blowing her soul onto her scales. Immediately it raced to her head, slipping through her teeth and down her throat. Bayou's soul was shocked at the sudden appearance of Snowstorm's, shrinking as hers grew. Soon, they both occupied the same amount of space, and the massive black dragon stepped back, stretching his neck to the sky and staring down at the IceWing.

Then he heard the first heartbeat.

    Also sorry for what might be the bad writing, it's REALLY loud at my place since a movie's playing and there's a party going on! It's hard to concentrate!}

foreseer | nightwing | tags: everyone

the nightwing queen reared up, flaring her wings, and slammed her talons down on pharaoh's back. foreseer towered over the sandwing, snaking her head around and sinking her teeth into his tail, just below the barb. she wouldn't admit it, but she was beginning to feel the effects from the earlier scratch; foreseer was beginning to feel woozy and off-balanced, the venom taking it's toll, and fast. she had to heal it. the queen didn't know if brightsting cactus would heal venom like this, but she knew pharaoh's necklace might. releasing her jaws, she slammed her back left talons just below his barb to pin it down, a slow, wide smile creeping across her face as she stared down at the golden sandwing. "you won't be able to kill me so easily. im unstoppable. i took three kingdoms and im not going to stop until everything in pyrrhia is mine. snowstorm had it coming, the little ass. and so will you, and the rest of your pathetic group. prophecy or no prophecy, pyrrhia is mine." foreseer's long claws were still hooked onto the chain, and she yanked three times, attempting to break it.

snowstorm | icewing | tags: everyone

nothing feels weirder than being brought back from the dead. a sensation flickered through the still body of snowstorm, like a spark igniting a fire, as her soul reentered her body. the scales at her neck began to knit themselves back together, healing itself, but leaving behind another large, jagged scar. her heart fluttered back to life, and slowly she began to stir, and all at once her startling blue eyes snapped open and she gasped a breath of air. snowstorm shakily lifted herself to sit up, eyes darting around in confusion at the sudden turn of events. "what.." snowstorm began, but abruptly cut herself off as her gaze caught foreseer towering over pharaoh. without thinking, she struggled to her talons, beginning to fill with a boiling rage. no-one hurt pharaoh. no-one. not the dragon she loved. but next thing she knew, the icewing had collapsed, still weak from suddenly being brought back.

snowstorm's blue eyes turned to meet wrethen's ruby red, not wavering in fear, but still filled with confusion. she didn't understand why he would bring her back after he, himself, slit her throat. absentmindedly her talons reached up toward her neck, but no blood streamed down. snowstorm could only feel smooth scales. "you brought me back?" she asked in a whisper, still staring up at the massive hybrid. "why?" her gaze then turned to pharaoh and foreseer, and she shakily stood up again, determined to reach them, to rip out foreseer's own throat like wrethen had done to her.

☠ WRETHEN ☠

Wrethen blinked, stepping backwards and giving Snowstorm some room. His muscles rippled underneath his sinuous bulk, his black forked tongue slipping in and out between his jagged fangs. "An exchange was made," he hissed, stepping to the side so that Bayou's still form was visible to her eyes. "This... MudWing, killed himself off to bring you back." The large black dragon was completely ignoring what was going on behind him. He didn't exactly take orders from Foreseer... It would grow more into a partnership, he would force it to. He wasn't someone that was easily pushed around. However, if she called him over, he would come. At least for now. At least to get rid of these pesky dragonets. Well... Except for the IceWing. "I don't re-kill something immediately... You have 24 hours, IceWing, to get away from me. 24 hours. And when those are up, you'd better watch your back." He turned away from her, eyeing the battle, his tail lightly thumping against the ground and making it tremble, like a small earthquake.

Sidewinder heard her call of help and surged upwards, but she felt a sharp pain in both her belly and her neck that she slammed onto the ground again, a rasping sound coming from deep in her throat. She watched as the IceWing was reincarnated, knowing that if she died, the same wouldn't happen to her. Who would take her place? Nobody. Nobody wanted her. The world didn't want her. And especially not her tribe... She still remembered. The blood splattered against the walls, the shrieks...

But none of that mattered now, anyway. Her royal bloodline was gone, every last dragonet, except for Pharaoh. And her mate had been slain anyways, which meant no more eggs. No more females that had a chance at regaining control of the throne for her. She was too old to fight against a young, strong queen. Much like Foreseer... And look what had happened.

"Pharaoh," she said weakly, her voice almost a whisper. She knew he couldn't hear her, but Sidewinder no longer cared."Pharaoh PROMISE... PROMISE not to make an exchange for me... PROMISE." Unless Pharaoh could push Foreseer away, rush to her side, and use the citrine necklace to heal her without any interruptions from the NightWing queen, she was as good as dead already.

☀ PHARAOH ☀
SandWing ☀ Male ☀ Chosen ☀ Tags- Everyone
Sidewinder was right; Pharaoh hadn't heard her. But he had heard another voice... A voice that was all too familiar... A voice that made his heart beat faster every time he heard it. He had woken up every morning to that voice, spent as much time as he could with the dragon it belonged to. Snowstorm.

"SNOW!!!" Pharaoh roared, trying to snake his head around to look at her, but it was much too short. His talons scrabbled uselessly at the rock beneath him, pressed tightly against his chest, where he could feel his heart beating beneath them. He surged upwards, trying to shove Foreseer off, but she was too strong. Even with the extra longing flowing through his veins, it wasn't enough to throw off the power-hungry queen. It wasn't enough...

He could feel her tugging hard at his citrine necklace, in much the same way he had tugged at her circlet earlier. Whether she wanted to break him, take away everything from him, or just heal herself (or both), it wouldn't be long before she succeeded. She was much stronger than he was, much stronger, and it was as simple as snapping a single link in the chain. Then she would have it, she could heal herself, and she would kill him. Nobody was around to make the exchange... And he couldn't let Snowstorm do it. Was was the point of that? He'd be broken inside, all over again, before his heart even got a chance to finish mending.

{These posts are starting to get so shipalicious
    Is that a word?
    HELL YES}

Hope barreled into the NightWing queen, knocking her off balance. "You are not getting that necklace, you ass. Move and you'll have another venom wound to match your SandWing one." She looked up at Wrethen. "Um, just a question, do you like her? I mean like, you wouldn't kill me if she died? Or would you?"

foreseer | nightwing | tags: everyone

the large nightwing hissed in annoyance as the rainwing slammed into her at the right spot, causing her to stumble off-balanced. foreseer's talons were still firmly hooked around pharaoh's necklace, and as she fell, pharaoh was dragged along. the queen glared up at hope, a smile spreading across her face, and she lifted herself to her talons to tower over the two dragonets. as soon as hope turned to wrethen, foreseer quickly inhaled, then blasted a huge fireball at the rainwing. taking her chance, the queen whirled around back to pharaoh, pulled the chain to it's fullest length, and twisted around to touch the gem to her side. foreseer grinned wickedly at the sandwing, her left talons that pinned him down digging harder into his scales. "there's no hope for you or your idiotic mother, dragonet. once i kill you and the rest, i'll take snowstorm and give her the proper torture she needs. i didn't get to finish last time."

foreseer quickly observed the immediate futures. hope killing her, unlikely. snowstorm and pharaoh, a high chance. pathfinder and starkeeper.. also low chances. pathfinder and starkeeper, her two personal thrice-moon born dragonets, would never kill their queen. after all, star and path had spied for her. she had taught pathfinder how to control his visions. but what scared foreseer, even slightly, was that the paths where she died were growing, more and more appearing as the current events took place. i will not die. i will be immortal. wrethen and i will rule together, just as he did thousands of years ago. those thoughts kept repeating in her mind, giving her strength to push forward and win this war.

            pyrrhia was hers to command.

snowstorm | icewing | tags: everyone

as the black hybrid spoke, snowstorm's eyes drifted to the still, light brown-tan mudwing. her claws dug into the sand, and she let out a quiet "no.." the dragonets hadn't known him long.. since the journey from possibility began. was that a few weeks ago? a month? it felt like a lifetime. it had started with a longing to get out into the world, which turned into a plan, which turned into a violence-filled adventure with seven dragonets to change the world. and bayou had helped them through. struggling to her talons, snowstorm made her way to the mudwing, lowering her head to nudge his shoulder. he had given up his life for another to live.

her anger-filled eyes turned to foreseer, who was towering over pharaoh and hope with her talons hooked around the citrine necklace. she had made it for pharaoh, and only him. before she knew it, snowstorm was hurtling towards the massive nightwing, serrated claws extended to tear into her scales. now foreseer would feel how snowstorm did, being stabbed and in agony.

foreseer would die. and wrethen would never bring her back.
