Flintfoot bristled. " Don't you think I did try to? I'm no mouse-brain, Flamewing! " He spat. " If Kestrelflame wants a mutt to hang around camp, she can be to blame when it causes us danger in the future! " Flintfoot faced toward Kestrelflame. " I didn't want to argue, but I told you to leave the dog behind! I told you it would happen. "

Kestrelflame’s head hung. “If he ever attacked, I’d kill him.”

"Are you sure about that? Are you sure your feelings wouldnt get in the way?" She scrunched up her nose. "At least you tried to stop her, Flintfoot..." She trailed off. 'I'm deputy. I can make her leave the dog behind. The clan is my responsibility. I need to keep them safe.'

(Are you sure this is a good idea? It seems like PP to be able to control a dog, and this is pretty big...)

“Ill take him back. Right now. I'll take him back to the twolegs.” Kestrelflame whispered, slipping out of camp, brink of tears.

Flintfoot sat down. His fur lay flat again. " When was bringing a mutt to camp a good idea? " He muttered.

"It's for the good of the Clan." She nodded, her claws unsheathed in case the dog went out of control. She sat down besides Flintfoot, her eyes concentrated on Kestrelflame. "I don't know. I guess if bringing dogs to camp is a good idea, then I guess Hedgehogs can fly now." She snorted.

Flintfoot shifted his weight from each paw to another. " I hate to argue with Kestrelflame, but I guess her mind is everywhere... " He murmured.

Kestrelflame growled, hearing their conversation. “Flames, come here boy!” She called. Flames came trotting from the trail, barking and slobbering everywhere. Kestrelflame smiled faintly and pushed her face into his fur, crying. Flames looked alarmed and licked her ear. “I love you, Flames. I'll come visit you.” She whispered. She leapt onto his back and they disappeared.
