"Ahhh!" Nightpaw yowled as he fell back, nearly jumping out of his fur at Sorrelclaw's 'dramatic entrance'. It was better than the time Triggerpaw scared him half to death in the apprentice's den, in that there wasn't a hard surface above his head for him to crash into. He got up, shaking, his eyes spelling out 'not entertained'. He sighed and spoke quietly, but still respectfully, as she was a warrior. "Just a mouse I caught, nothing special."

After waiting a bit for the white apprentice to do the same, Frostpaw mewed, "We'll go in three, two, o-"

"...Sorry!" Sorrelclaw meowed, seeing the young apprentice's expression. She twitched her ears with embarrassment, but still held her posture. Her pale eyes flicked back and forth from Nightpaw to the killpile like the seesawing tree branch balanced on the rock near the edge of camp. She smiled faintly, silently displaying her pride in the irritated apprentice. "A mouse! You know, they're tricky sometimes. Clever little things, but once you know their tricks -" Sorrelclaw fell silent, only giving a sly wink. "A mouse is food, and food fuels the clan."

"Isn't it?" Tigerfoot laughed as Deadoaw rolled on the warm stones. Alright, just a bit, then. He nodded to himself all official-like, and leaned down, gently plucking the leaves off the plant with a strong pair of jaws. He made extra care not to harm any of the leaves, looking rather focused. Tigerfoot always tried to put his all into everything he did, whether it be hunting or helping someone out.

Shyshadow looked at Tigerfoot, purring in amusement as he noticed how focused the deputy seemed.

"Yuuush" he purred delighted and soon got into working, searching for the catmint and pulling the plants smoothly to try and not damage it much. Him, like Tigerfoot, was focused on his work, though from times to times he caught himself almost wondering off into the forest. Seriously, hunting sounded so fun... he wanted to try it any day.

(( Sorry for not replying sooner. Busy. Had surgery recently. ;-; And I've also been spending most of my time reading the new super editions - ))

Coalpaw - the black and white tom almost jumped at the chance to hunt with Adderfur. He admired the warrior for his determination to beat his brother, although he would never admit it. "Sure," he mewed, then added, puffing out his chest, "So what? I'm not scared of a badger! I'd shred it!" he unsheathed his claws.

"I guess." Nightpaw was being humble, but smiled slightly at Sorrelclaw's praise. "Hold on," He padded over to the fresh-kill pile and retrieved the mouse, returning to Sorrelclaw. He dropped the mouse and nudged it towards her paws, urging her to accept it. He felt bad for overreacting to her harmless fun, and was grateful for her praise. Although it seemed kind of twisted that he would apologize for her scaring the dirt out of him, it made sense to him. He didn't want Sorrelclaw to think he was a stuck-up cat who couldn't take a joke. "Here," he meowed, nodding his head in confirmation. "For you."
