She studied his movements carefully, trying to remember each thing he did. She had a surprised look on her face as his fish flopped around, and she glanced at the water curiously. "Nice catch." She complimented, smiling with amusement at his comment. She puffed out her chest fur a little. I'll catch a bigger one! She crouched over the water's edge, watching the small shadows swim by. She saw a rather large shadow, and stretched out her paw to try to reach it and scoop it up. Not paying all attention to the lacing of her other paws,the grey and white cat lost her footing. She fell in with a splash, her body plunged into the cool water.

Rowanflame smiled as she returned the lick to the cheek. He then nudged the mouse toward her. "Go on, take first bite." he insisted politely.

Sandclaw jumped into a nearby bush, careful not to make a sound. His ears perked as he heard a faint sneeze, and he assumed it was just Cloverwing. The tom then flicked his tail once he was in the right position. He made sure to give just a slight flick, because he didn't want to alarm the prey.

Rowanflame smiled and took a bite out of the mouse after her.

The brown tabby tom's bright, green eyes widened as he watched the grey and white she-cat loose her footing and fall into the rushing water. He heard a splash as the water was disrupted, and his ears pricked forward as he listened for any other noise. Even if she wasn't injured in the fall, she could still be swept away by the current. ''Dewpaw? Are you alright? Can you pull yourself out onto the river bank,'' he asked with worry filling his voice. Although there was a chance that he could get swept away himself, Cedarpaw carefully slid down from the rock, and he waded into the deeper water.

At first she didn't realize what had just happened, but the coldness of the water forced her back to reality. Her paws thrashed out, and her chest started to tighten. She broke the surface with a gasp, only to go back under. She caught a glimpse of Cedarpaw's brown fur, before her vision was blurred by the darkness of the river. She felt herself being dragged a little, and constantly fought the water, reaching the surface every now and then, but going back under. However, her muscles and lungs were growing tired, and every time she broke the surface for air, it was for a shorter length of time.

The tom let out a loud, sharp hiss of frustration as he realized that Dewpaw wasn't going to be able to pull herself out, and he'd have to go into the water after her. He felt foolish for even asking Dewpaw to go fishing without making sure that her mentor or someone else had taught her how to. Cedarpaw heard the splashing of water as the grey and white she-cat continued to thrash around, and he began swimming towards her, careful that he was avoiding the places where the current was too strong for him to swim. Once he had finally reached where Dewpaw was, he sank his teeth into her scruff, and he swam back towards the bank, accidentally breathing in water and just barely managing to pull them both from the water. The tabby was out of breath, and he released Dewpaw's scruff as he slumped back, ears pinned back against his head. A cough wracked his body as he spit up water, and it seemed like an eternity before he finally managed to catch his breath enough that he could speak, ''D-dewpaw, please tell me that y-you're alr-right,'' he pleaded softly.

Her chest screamed for air, but she struggled to make it back up. That when she felt teeth grab her scruff, and start pulling her upwards. Naturally, her chest expanded hitting the air. Her paws churned wildly, and before she knew it, she had been hauled up into the bank. On her side, she choked and coughed up water, her lungs heaving. The muscles in her body felt languid sore, and she shuddered from the cold as the wetness chilled her to her bones. She opened her eyes barely, hazily seeing the striped brown fur of Cedarpaw. "C-Cedarpaw?" She whispered between her heavy breaths.

Cedarpaw let out an audible sigh of relief as he heard Dewpaw answer him because he assumed that she'd be alright if she was speaking. He began to finally calm down at the realization, but he was frightened that she was going to join Starclan's rank minutes before. The tom tried his best to shake the cold water out of his thick, tabby pelt, but damps tufts of fur stuck up at odd angles all over his pelt. He pressed his nose against her forehead as he tried to come up with a joke to make her feel better, ''I guess that we can both agree that fishing isn't your area of expertise. You should probably stick with hunting.'' The tom's maw formed into a frown as he began to seriously speak. ''I was afraid that you were going to...,'' Die Cedarpaw's sentence cut off after that because he couldn't bring himself to finish it.

She watched him come over, her muscles twitch as she started to move slightly. Her toes felt numb, and she drew her limbs closer to her body. She felt his nose touch her forehead, and made an attempt to chuckle at his comment. Coughing a little more, she sat up a little and pressed her cheek against his chest, letting out a soft whimper. "I thought so too.." She answered, shivering.
