Sandstar stepped back to continue the ceremony. "I, Sandstar, leader of DuskClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Leopardpaw, Stubbypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Stubbypaw and Leopardpaw dipped their heads, their eyes focused on Sandstar "I do." meowed Leopardstar "I do." Stubbypaw repeated, his tail twitching behind him.

Ashpaw turned from speaking with Coalpaw to look at Sandstar as she made all of the announcements for the clan. He sat tall as he watched Stubbypaw and Leopardpaw get their names, though he didn't speak with them much, he was happy for them and couldn't wait for his own warrior name.

Stormpaw didn't say anything, she didn't have anything to say. As they kept walking in search of the beautiful flowers for Sootnose's fallen sister. Every now and then the small apprentice would glance over at the warrior, though she wasn't sure why. Maybe to see if he was okay, maybe just to see if he was still there. The runt was about to say something to him when she tripped over a tree root, landing on the ground with a thud.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Leopardpaw, from this moment you will be known as Leopardfang. StarClan honors your courage and strong spirit, and we welcome you as a full warrior of DuskClan." The leader rested her muzzle ontop of the new warrior's head.

Sootnose halted glancing back at her. "Are you okay?" he turned, ready to help her up.

"Leopardfang! Leopardfang! Leopardfang!" Pride flashed through Spikeflame's eyes. That was his apprentice that he'd taught, receiving her warrior name. Who wouldn't be proud? He hoped to spend time with her on patrols, make sure her skills didn't waver.

Coalpaw nodded his head and joined in the cheering. Although not friendly with too many other cats, he was amazed by what had happened. I want to be Coalfang! Yeah, that sounds awesome!" Daydreaming about his warrior name, he drifted off into space. The cheers were for him! Jerking uncomfortably back to reality, he remembered the loner who had seemed so desperate. Wow! She was kicked out of a clan? No wonder she wants to join us! This is the most amazing time ever! He lifted his black head,meantime for Sandstar to announce Stubbypaw's name. Making a few guesses, he realised that he was completely clueless and that he would have to wait and see.

Finch heard the ceremony in the distance and started growling. She closed her eyes.

Leopardfang leaned forward, rasping her tongue along Sandstar's shoulder. Her gaze flickered back to where her mentor sat. There was pride in her eyes and her heart beat out of her chest. She felt her paws tingle and the tip of her tail tremble. She stared back at the cats watching her. She was a warrior!

Spikeflame caught her gaze with a smile. He nodded respectfully towards her, as if to say, "you did well".
