Larkpelt padded silently back to camp, a few mice hanging from his jaws. The patchy furred warrior noticed Flarepaw outside the campsite, near the walls of the camp and by the entrance. '' Hey'' Larkpelt mewed quietly, his voice betraying anxiety in his voice although it was muffled by the mice dangling from his muzzle. '' What are you doing out here?'' Larkpelt inquired, flicking his ears. '' It seems strange to be out here all alone with all the dangers about.'' he mused, Larkpelt's mind racing with thoughts of fierce toothed jackals, keen eyed hawks and malicious serpents. Shuddering fearfully, Larkpelt padded past the bold apprentice, flicking his tail to beckon her back to camp. " Come on...unless your meant to stay out here?" Larkpelt added thoughtfully, wondering whether Flarepaw was waiting for some cat or she was sitting vigil.

I blink and give a small nod. " I trust Scorchstar to make the best decision for our clan." I followed the fluffy tom's gaze to the twinkling night sky. I can't help but let out a purr at the sight. "This is why I stay up." I whisper. " This is what I can't bare to miss." I look down from the beautiful sky a focus my attention back on Jackalhowl. Is it just me or did he get kinda nervous when he was talking about possible deputy candidates. I quietly consider to myself. Oh stop it! Leave the poor tom alone! He doesn't need you snooping in his business. I give a small sigh. I stand and stretch my limbs slightly to ease the drowsiness settling into them, before I retake my seat on the sandy ground, now warm from my body heat. "Isn't the sky just breathtaking at night?" The warm purr continues to rumble on my throat as I admire the countless stars.

The lean she cat's golden eyes scanned the tabby as his own eyes scrutinized her. She could tell she had hit a nerve the moment her amusement played across her eyes, his pale blue eyes latching on to every subtle movement she made. He's prideful for sure she thought bitterly, watching the tom closely as the anger dissipated, replaced by a boastful glimmer as he puffed out his chest in an over-exaggerated show of pride. The scent of herbs lingered around her along with a hint of fresh blood from his battle wound. She shifted her body back slightly, her eyes flickering to his shoulder, her ears alert as his voice rang out against the silence that surrounded them. The most talked about topic among the clan cats tonight was the deputy, and who Scorchstar would choose. She had several thoughts swirling around in her mind, but the most obvious choice had been Troutsplash. "I've heard several cats assume Troutsplash, but there are plenty of cats qualified to become deputy" she cast a sidelong glance at the tom, watching his facial expressions closely, admiring the strength his body portrayed. She sat slightly taller and refocused her attention on the clan, analyzing what she knew about this cat, and what words she could speak that would help in her attempts to befriend this cat. The realization was made at the friendship he shared with the overly ambitious Waspclaw. She flicked her tail in thought before turning back to the toms scrutinizing gaze. "Mossleap would be a good choice as well. Same with Waspclaw. He's strong and dedicated with an air of ambition" she meowed, her voice firm and confident. She wasn't so sure Waspclaw was a good choice, his ambitions left her with slight worries and she herself had longed to be deputy but she knew that Hawkcry would approve of her thought process. "Who do you think will be chosen?" she asked, turning her own bright gaze to him.
