Padding swiftly down the way, Fadedember allowed a purr to rumble in their throat, tail curling in content as they made their way to the river. Their eyes widened with glee as they spotted the river, dark eyes glittering with the joy and excitement as one would expect from a kit. Making sure to take in their surroundings, they checked over visually, before moving onto hearing and smell. They let out a sigh of relief, knowing that the area was safe, for now at least. Padding down to the river bed, Fadedember shivered as they stepped into the river for the first time in what felt like moons.
As they waded deeper into the water, their mind wandered. First to his family, to the possibility of who their father could be - as they'd never figured that out. Then finally to their clan-mates, Deerblaze, Oakmoon, and Breezespark coming to mind, though they were sure there were others.

She listened as the tom spoke, her tail curling and uncurling as she chewed the last bits of her mouse. Making small sounds and nods of acknowledgment, as Jaguarpaw went on. Swallowing the last bit of her mouse she huffed a small laugh, "True, I find it a bit odd sometimes. A bit redundant as well." The patched she-cat gave a shrug, then continued, pushing the leftover bones to the side. "In a way, I find it both a bit mouse-brained on how the clan's deputy is picked, aside from being loyal and having mentored an apprentice."
Giving the tom beside her a glance out of the corner of her eye, as she turned her head towards the middle of the camp." The way I see it, the deputy position is little more than a popularity contest. Whenever I've asked someone their preferred deputy, they tend to either reply with their mentor, a parent, a sibling, or someone they really admire. Not even taking in the facts if that cat's suitable to be deputy." She responded, her voice taking an odd mix of amusement and annoyance. Her ears flushed with heat. "Though I have to agree with you. I think I'd prefer to be a warrior or queen, the thought of becoming a deputy or even clan leader someday makes me want to run and hide." Turning her gaze back to her companion, she gave an exaggerated shiver, chuckling softly.
