(oh darn, not again..! It's kinda funny how the last round and the current one started with a double-kill. Really enjoyed reading!)

Rosestar woke early that morning with a strong feeling of unease in her gut. The first cat she decided to check on was her apprentice Beepaw. Making her way across camp to the apprentice's den felt like a much longer walk than usual. She shivered and picked up the pace until she could see into the den. A sigh of relief flooded through her body at the sight of Beepaw's sleeping form. Her next thought was to check on Ferretwing, but she brushed it aside. She wasn't a medicine cat after all. Instead she stepped inside and poked Beepaw. "Rise and shine Beepaw! I want you on the dawn patrol today."

Beepaw stirred at the calling, and opened his eyes drowsily. He was just having a lovely dream about hunting with his sister, Wasppaw. The soft warmth of his slumber was but a faint whisper now. Blinking once or twice, he looked up at Rosestar and groaned, sitting up and licking the moss from his bedding out of his fur. "Surely Harrierheart should be making the decisions for patrols..." He grumbled under his voice, shaking his head and looking up at his mentor and leader, Rosestar. "Good morning, Rosestar. I'll go on the dawn patrol, but can Wasppaw join me?" It's so boring being surrounded by warriors, he thought bitterly to himself, plus she's the only cat who can match my temper and knowledge. Without making another complaint, Beepaw glanced at his sleeping sister before moving to sit in the clearing.

Wasppaw lay quietly in her nest, her chest rising and falling calmly and she tried to catch those last moments of sleep before her mentor would inevitably get her up. Soon, she felt something missing by her. Blinking herself awake, she turned over to the nest next to hers and noticed that Beepaw was gone. He must have gotten woken up by Rosestar... she thought before getting up, stretching her still sleepy body and walking out the den. She quickly noticed Beepaw sitting in the clearing, and trotted over to join him. "Mornin' Beepaw" she greeted cheerfully, before sitting beside him. "Lemme guess... Dawn patrol?" she asked. Of course, the question was rhetorical, both apprentices knew that. "Rosestar
really can't give you a rest huh?" she continued.

ferretwing woke as the sun began to filter into the warrior's den. he blinked and yawned, and glanced over at flowerfoot's empty nest. he looked at the nest with puzzlement; the she-cat had seemed restless the night before, and he figured she'd end up falling asleep and sleeping in. perhaps he was wrong, and maybe she had taken her apprentice out for an early training session. the tom felt unease and dread fill his stomach, but he pushed aside those feelings and made his way to the apprentices' den, where he saw rosestar enter to fetch her own apprentice.

"rosestar-" ferretwing said, stopping as he realized wasppaw was now in the clearing. he quickly changed the course of his conversation. "flowerfoot wasn't in her nest when i woke this morning. i assumed she was taking wasppaw out, but i'm starting to feel otherwise," he said, looking at his sister in hopes that he was only overthinking.

At the sound of his sister's comforting voice, Beepaw looked towards her and purred a greeting. He got up from where he sat to push his head under her chin in an affectionate greeting before sitting back down next to her again, pressing his flank against hers. "Hm, you'd think she wouldn't have assigned me to herself, huh? What can I expect from the great Thunderclan leader." He mocked, rolling his eyes and resisting the urge to crouch and rest his head on his paws. The ginger tomcat's fur was ruffled by a soft breeze and a chill ran through him as he glanced around the clearing. He noted Ferretwing talking to the leader and turned back to look at his paws. His eyes betrayed emotions of regret, but at the same time, he was glad Rosestar was his mentor; it was the highest honor to be mentored by the leader of a clan after all, an honor definitely befitting of a cat like himself.

"Of course Wasppaw can come with us." Rosestar told her apprentice with a small smile. It warmed her heart to see the closeness of the sibling. Her attention was turned to her own sibling shortly after and so didn't hear any of the apprentices' comments about her.

She frowned at Ferretwing's words. No, Wasppaw is with me."She confirmed with dread settling back into her gut. She stepped farther away from the apprentices in an attempt to hide the seriousness of her voice. "Something is very wrong. I don't think Flowerfoot's disappearance is a coincidence. I need you to find Harrierheart and together go on a search patrol to find Flowerfoot. I'll take Rainpaw with me on the dawn patrol." Rosestar rubbed against her brother fondly. "I wouldn't trust this with anyone but you."

Having given her orders she straightened up and turned back to Beepaw and Wasppaw. "Okay you two, let's find Rainpaw and maybe another warrior or two before we head out."

"of course. i'll go fetch him," ferretwing nodded, glancing at the apprentices' den, where he assumed rainpaw was still sleeping. the tom gave his sister a quick lick on the forehead, and turned to go find the thunderclan deputy. he hadn't seen harrietheart yet this morning, and returned to the warrior's den to see if he was still asleep. ferretwing saw the tom curled up, and quickly made his way over to the sleeping cat. he prodded harrierheart with one paw, trying to gently wake him up.

"harrierheart," he mewed, "it's time to get up. rosestar has asked me to get you and go search for flowerfoot together. she wasn't in her nest when i woke up." he wanted to explain his unease over the missing she-cat, but did not want to cause any unnecessary panic. she could very easily be out on an early hunt, but it was unusual for her.

Struggling to supress a sigh, he turned to look at his leader. "Rainpaw is in his nest, we don't need to 'find' him. I don't know if you've noticed, but unless you want us to take one of the medicine cats, we can't take another warrior. You're sending Harrierheart and Ferretwing to look for Flowerfoot, so there's no other warriors in the camp." He grumbled, staring at his leader with a cold gaze. He shook his head, looking at his sister with an apathetic gaze before padding off towards the apprentice den. If Rosestar wanted Rainpaw, she could have him. Entering the den, the chubby cat made his way over to Rainpaw and prodded the silver tom in the side. "Up. Rosestar wants us all on dawn patrol." He hissed, waiting for the other apprentice to wake up.
