Bristlepelt's fur went hot with embarassment but he knew that was exactly what Thunderstorm wanted so he tried to shake it off. "H-he is," he faltered and didn't continue. "Just shup up and go you stupid furball!"

Sparrowcatcher's heart jumped in his chest when Bristlepelt spoke, and he glanced inquisitively at the deputy. I...I am? But he said nothing aloud. He was still stunned about the whole 'infection' and having to deal with the infected cats. The tabby looked at Warrex curiously, though he was on edge. Couldn't this cat just be lying? It sounded extremely far-fetched, and loners were often up to no good.
"Bristlepelt's right," Sparrowcatcher mewed to the loner worriedly. "They're our family. Sick or not, we can't kill them. There has to be some cure, or a way to stop it. We-we have a medicine cat. Two, actually. They can heal almost anything. Maybe it's like a cold," He added at the end hopefully.

"It's not a cold, there's no other way. You have to do it that way and just hope things get better. Maybe it'll go away, maybe it won't. I don't know and you don't either." The tom mewed to the cats that had now gathered around, looking over them each in turn with his large blue eyes, twitching his pushed-in nose and sniffing the air curiously before stopping.

Aspenpaw woke up with a start, scenting an unfamiliar cat. He stepped out and saw a strange looking cat. The apprentice hissed as the other cat leapt at him, taking advantage of his drowsiness. The infected cat bit into his shoulder before Aspenpaw could throw him off.

Thunderstorm looked to Bristlepelt and ignored the others. "What?!"

Bristlepelt wasn't sure what to say. He didn't exactly mean to decide Sparrowcatcher was his mate. They had never even talked about that before. It just.. came out. He stuttered, "I didn't mean... I-i mean I don't know.. I just." His pelt trickled with embarrassment. Bristlepelt wasn't sure what to say. His claws itched and he wanted to give Thunderstorm a good slash with them but he knew he couldn't.
