RedStripe laughed, picking up HawkKit. He threw the kit up, catching him and putting him down before doing the same to OwlKit. Then he did it to HawkKit once more. "There." He said with a smile. "You've both done it twice." He meowed, licking his lips, hungrily. "Want to share a rabbit?" He asked the kits with kind eyes.

Finchflight lifted her head from her paws. A small look of happiness glittered over her features, that quickly changed to rage. "How could you!" She hissed at Viperstar, unsheathing her claws. "How could you leave me when I needed you most!?"

As she watched the exchange of looks from many of the cats within the clan, Patchsong gazed at Fawnkit with bewilderment. "I just.. I cannot believe the poor little thing survived long enough to have been found." She mewed to Lilystream, her eyes slightly widened.

Dapplekit pawed at the ground. "It's lucky, that's for sure." His voice squeaked due to his young age, but his tone was curt. The harsh use of 'it' as the pronoun had resulted in a light cuff on his ear from Patchsong and he caught a low murmur from her to behave. Dapplekit flicked his tail in minor annoyance at his mother, but said not another word and averted his eyes.

** outside the Elders' den // Applefall and/or Coldfoot
Landing lightly on the ground after jumping from the tree, Nightpaw decided to make use of her spare-time and see if the Elders needed anything. She grabbed a plump thrush from the fresh-kill pile and swiftly carried it towards the Elders' den. "Applefall.. Coldfoot?" She called out kindly, "I have a delicious-looking thrush here, if you want it, or if there's anything else you may need."

I quickly realise that only Finchflight and I can see Viperstar and decide to leave them to their conversation... I pad across to Badgerstar "Badgerstar" I begin "You know the kit that Skystream found? I have told Silverblaze I will nurse it, so we now have an adopted daughter, Fawnkit." I say hoping my mate and leader will approve of my decision.

Winterfeather ran over to where the scent was, but shook her head. "It's stale. No intruders here." She
mewed, shrugging. "Anyways, our job here is to hunt." She crouched, sniffing the air, before stalking
forward and sticking her paws down a hole in the ground. She wiggled her paw around and a mouse
leaped out. The she-cat killed it in one swift bite. She turned back to the other toms. "Your turn." She
chuckled.

Trundleice padded over to Badgerstar, before settling next to him. He turned to face the leader, flicking
his ear. "So, how are you adjusting?" He asked politely, turning to face the clan. Most of them were still
buzzing over the kit, some were playing with kits, and the rest were out hunting it seemed. The blue
sky above them was a brilliant shade, but it was grey a bit further down. Possibly rain. The light breeze
swayed the trees and cooled the cat from the heat.

Nightshades hears something under a tree root, so she instantly goes into the hunters crouch. Stalking forward, she spots a mouse nibbling on a seed of sorts. Now close enough, the muscle in her hindlegs tighten, and she springs forward. Landing squarely on the small creature, she breaks its back. Picking it up in her jaws, she figures it must be time to head back. Dropping her mouse she mews to Finny. "You should go. Unless you want to join Hawkclan, in which case you can follow me," she says before picking up her mouse once again and walking back towards the camp. Her ears are perked back to catch any sign of Finny following her or not.

Dustcloud smirked and rolled his eyes with exaggeration at the she-cat. He poised himself in a hunting crouch, before turning his gaze to the trees. He spotted a rather large thrush sitting there, enjoying the sun. 'Not for much longer.' He thought. He shot up the tree like a bullet and leapt on the thrush, biting into it's neck. He twisted down landing on all fours and dropped the thrush at his feet, smiling. With a flick of his tail, he dropped the thrush into a pre-dug hole and buried it.

Skystream sat, thinking about life. That kit managed to survive out there.. and there would be others too. Rogues, maybe?Skystream sat bolt upright and remembered the strange scent she had smelt earlier. She decided she would go out checking the borders, maybe with Nightshade.. As she looked around the camp, she realised that Nightshade wasn't there and hadn't been for some time. Standing up quickly, she looked around for her apprentice and the only cat she truly trusted, Poppypaw. They had to check the borders - and quick.

"You're all okay, aren't you?" Fishpool smiled. "Talonwind is here to play with your kits!" She laughed as Talonwind gave her a glare, before leaving the den, only to be struck with the sight of Finchflight talking to her uncle! She hid behind the den, watching closely.

"I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt you. Flinchflight, you need to forgive me, for yours and the kits sakes. Move on, Finchflight, there are cats out there who love you." Viperstar's eyes were sad yet caring. "Our kits will be something special. Eight will save the forest. Tell Silverblaze that. Now I must go. I love you, Flinchflight."

Finchflight turned her head and touched her nose to his. "I'll tell them, I promise," she whispered,"But you have to promise that even if I can't see you, you'll still be there. I can't do this alone,"
