Finding the Sun (Canine RP)

River awoke from her long nap to see that the pack moved on. She stretched her short legs and curled her tail as she yawned. Her nap was anything but restful. The demons which seemed to inhabit the world where now appearing in her dreams making her relive her mothers death over and over. She lifted her nose and smelled the endless nights sky trying to catch the trail of the pack. It was faint but still their so she set off to find them. Her stomach began to grumble reminding her that she needed to find something to eat. With the forest infested with demons it was going to be a lot harder to find something that wasn't tainted by the demons. Their was a fast movement that caught the corner of her eye as it ran past. She tensed her muscles per-pairing herself for a pounce and leap onto the unexpected rat. After it stopped struggling in her teeth she released it. After she was satisfied enough to believe it was not tainted by the demons she began it eat the rat. With her belly no longer complaining she continued on to find Ayet and the pack.

'Could have been the end of the poor fellow.' Ayet had said, and Torka had nodded understandingly. He sat and watched the injured wolf for a minute or two; When Ayet howled Torka wagged his tail excitedly and threw a little 'roo, roo!' into the howl. He bounded in circles for a moment or two before falling onto his side and rolling awkwardly as he got back up with a sheepish grin on his maw.

Once the howling was over, Torka bounded toward Rain and stood some five feet away, observing. "Wow, mister," He exclaimed with jaws wide open as he sat his butt on the floor and tilted his head. "That puma got you bad, didnt it? What did it look like? I've never seen a demon myself." He explained as to why he was asking questions to a stranger then he scrambled to his paws and bowed respectively, as he did to most adult wolves. "Hi, Im Torka." He grinned.

Rain smiled at the little pup, "No need to be so respectful, little guy. I'm Rain and yeah, I guess that puma got me bad. As to what it looked like, well, I can't really say. It had black, hollow eyes-" then realizing he was talking to a pup, Rain changed courses. "Just think of it as your worst nightmare. And don't go looking for one either, you don't want to end up like me." He groaned for empasis as he got up and limped to the pool of water reflecting the moon. Rain took a long drink, the coppery water cooling his throat. He continued to limp until he found a nice spot in the field close to the pack that had rescued him.

Cassandra followed the pack into the clearing and quietly walked to the pool of water, neither rushing forward with joy, nor hanging back with doubt. She reached the clearing and lapped up a few gulps of water cautiously. She could smell blood. Wolf blood and their blood. Cass climbed onto a stout rock and sat on it, viewing the Sawtooth pack as she normally did. She noticed a few wolves she hadn't seen around there before. Cassandra watched them cautiously with her lavender eyes.

Rain? Hmm... August thought. She put her shoulder delicately up against Rain in case he wanted some support for walking. Her shoulder was still bleeding, but she knew that Haru could heal her by the lake. The fighter hesitantely took a step forward, waiting to see whether or not the strange wolf would accept her help.

((It's kind of irrelevant at this point xD))

Toko nodded to Ayet and padded towards the lake. He waded out a bit into the water and stared down into its depths, waiting for an unsuspecting fish to lurk by. He couldn't help but notice his reflection. Dull fur, unusually lean muscles, yellowing teeth: all were results of Death's rule in this world, and Toko wondered if he'd ever regain his old, attractive form. He looked up at the moon and wished more than anything that it would soon be replaced by Sun's warm, life-giving rays. He closed his eyes, letting the breeze off the lake ruffle through his pelt. It would be easy... he thought, So easy to just walk out in the water as far as I can and let myself go... Just like that... He savored the thought for a moment, but then opened his eyes with a determined fire. "NO," he said to himself. Then lowereing his voice he said, "I won't think about that, I'm going to get Sun out of Death's lair if it kills me. And that's that." Satisfied, Toko resumed his gaze on the water, and raised his paw up in the air, ready to catch himself a fish.

Out of the darkness came a mass of two heads, five eyes, six legs, two tails, and three mouths, all squished into one body. Endless torment, walking around as this monstrosity. But vengeance would soon be his. The Sun would see just what it felt like to be him.

He crawled from the shadows of a dark forest, where he knew she would be. Atleast the Sun had not banished him from their dreams. Soon enough his stupid rules would no longer apply; as nature slowly died away the Sun's influence grew weaker and weaker. A smile spread across one of his heads as he waited for the female, Niko, to notice his presence. He made no sound as he waited in the eerie silence that covered this dream forest. There was no sound of prey, no smell of a distant mice, or even of the dark green grass as it stayed motionless in it's place. There wasn't even a breeze.

Rain lept up with a start only to collapse down in pain. August! Man! He completely forgot about her!Getting up slowly, he turned to look at the pup. "Listen, I'm going now so go back to the pack. It's not safe for a pup to be on his own." Rain started to limp quickly toward the spot where he last left August. Real smooth Rain, REAL smooth... he scolded himself, And after all she did, you just BAM! leave her like that? He came upon August, panting. "I'm sorry I left you like that! GAH! That was rude of me. How to say sorry.. uhh..." Rain looked around a little panicked. There! He limped over to some flowers and picked them. He limped back to August and handed her the flowers, though they were already pretty much wilted from the sun's absence.

Dreamless sleep had held his body and mind as he slept near the waters edge. But Khamari's break from the waking world was interupted by a cold sensation, like pressure, on his face. His eyes shot open and he let out a short "Yip!" as he found himself partially underwater. With the noise he'd made the young male had unintentionally snorted water up his nose. He dashed backwords out of the water, coughing and sneezing, spraying water out his mouth and gasping as air filled his lungs once again. He wondered if that was what it was like to drown. Surrounded by cold, alone and burning on the inside. He didn't like the thought, and shook the remaining droplets from his fur.
*I wonder... How I managed to get past the edge. This is a lake, not the ocean, I wouldn't expect to be carried away by a tide.* He pondered the thought, shivering and hunkered down. Khamari was glad now that he did not fear death. He was unused to living in a pack, and hesitated to speak to any of the other wolves, preferring to work with them silently. Had he feared death, now he would be terrified, with no one to talk to, even amongst a group.
*Do I even trust them?* He huddled in some grass, trying to warm himself up and glanced back at the others, *Not really, not yet.*
