Amberpelt looked at her apprentice. "So what will it be Whitepaw? Training or hunting?"

"Hunting!" Whitepaw told her mentor, smiling.

[fire,]

Amberpelt nodded. "Okay, follow me." Her amber-ginger pelt vanished and reappeared as she walked into the evergreens.

Whitepaw nodded and followed close behind.

Amberpelt stopped. The sky was shining clear blue, with a few white clouds in the sky. The trees were very tall, and long grass covered them to their upper legs. Amberpelt flicked an ear, telling Whitepaw that she could hear the scuffling of a vole nearby. She slowly glanced at the apprentice, telling her to try to find and catch the prey.

Whitepaw nodded, she followed the scent. She eventually saw the outlines in the grass, she tried to stalk it, although was a little off. She accidentally stepped on a small twig, seeing the vole scurry around. She tried to pounce on it but wasn't fast enough, it scurried away.

Amberpelt smiled. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get the next one. You see what you need to do is pad lightly, as if your not even on the ground." She said. Amberpelt showed her, crouching and stalking ever so lightly on the hard Earth.

Whitepaw mimicked it, grinning happily.

Amberpelt nodded. "Good. Now see if you can find anything else and try again."
