She felt odd, directing an apprentice on the fine points of hunting when she herself had barely been in the Clan longer than Flutterpaw had. She crouched down. "But you're right, I do smell mouse, and rabbit, under some of the scents that are confusing you. Now, do you want to practice your stalking, or you up for a speed test?"

The apprentice pricked her smaller ears, a smile spreading across her face. "A speed test sounds great!" She chirpsed, her eyes bright with excitement. She pranced in place as she tested her slightly-sore pad before discovering that no pain surged through it. Flutterpaw stopped her prancing, briefly shook out her fur, and looked towards Olivebreeze. "How?" She inquired curiously.

Falconpaw

Falconpaw was furious. Not only was Eaglestar allowing some of the dumbest and most useless looking kittypets she had ever seen join the clan, she gave them a warrior name. Only true warriors deserve a warrior name; those kittypets probably didn't even have proper training! Next, she called all the apprentices to come forward. Falconpaw stood up, but she made no move to get closer to the Flameclan leader. Defiant as ever, Falconpaw glared at Eaglestar as she announced they would receive new mentors. I'd better get someone from Stoneclan or I'll skin her pelt! Her glare turned to Cedarpaw when he was appointed Robinchaser. The stupid Rainclan cat didn't deserve to have anyone from Stoneclan. She was a little startled when her name was called second, though she still made no move to get closer she didn't expect to be called so soon. Her mentor was Cloudstrike, wait...who was that? She suddenly recognized him as that mangy Flameclan warrior who was trying to get her to go on some patrol. That fox-hearted, cloud-brained, crowfood leader! "I refuse!" She yowled out once Eaglestar finished with the mentor giving. "I don't want to be trained by some bee-brained, crowfood Flameclen cat! I'm a Stoneclan apprentice, and I should be trained by someone from Stoneclan!" Eaglestar was lucky she didn't march over there and make an attempt to claim her nine lives. No, she was lucky that Falconpaw was willing to accept another mentor at all. She didn't believe anyone could be a better mentor than Foxstar, especially not someone from Flameclan!

I know you miss Foxstar and so did I but I didn't sense nor smell any other cats from stoneclan on my journey. I'm sorry" She mewed pressing her nose to his shoulder.
"That obvious, am I?" asked Pineclaw, annoyed at himself for letting his emotions show. He stepped back as she pressed her nose to his fur, not wanting the comfort. He turned away quickly, back towards the camp. "Glad you're alright." he said, though his voice was flat and emotionless. "You should talk to Eaglestar." he added, narrowed his eyes at the name. "She's our leader now." With that, he slipped back through the grass and into the camp, not looking back at Boulderstride.
Eaglestar grinned. "We welcome you all as full warriors of SunClan!" she announced. "Now, for our many apprentices. Would you all step forwards? You have all begun your training, but since the fire you no longer have mentors to train you. I hope continuing your training with your new mentors will help bring this clan together." She paused, racing through the names in her head. She'd gone over it many times, trying to be sure she wouldn't forget someone or mispronounce a name. This was one of the largest ceremonies she'd ever done, and she was determined to get it right. The leader took a deep breath and, before she could panic herself too much, launched into the list.
"First will be Cedarpaw. Your mentor will be Robinchaser. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you.
Falconpaw, your new mentor will be Cloudstrike. He is a good warrior; I hope you will give him a chance.
Loudpaw, you will be mentored by Mintsplash. I'm sure she will train you well.
Redpaw, your mentor will be Pineclaw. A fine warrior.
Lightpaw, your new mentor will be Pebblerun. She is a good deputy, and I'm sure she'll do just as well as a mentor.
Duskpaw will be mentored by Raccoonstrike. I trust him to mentor you well.
Songpaw, you will be taught by Gwyn. She may not have a warrior name, but she will teach you well.
Viperpaw will be mentored by Frostwing. Do not underestimate her skill; I'm sure she will be a fine mentor for you.
Shadowpaw. I will be your mentor. I will do my best to teach you all I know.
Hookpaw, your new mentor will be Stormfly. Be sure to listen to what she has to teach you.
Gingerpaw, you will now be mentored by Cherryleaf. She may be quiet, but she will be a good mentor to you.
Swallowpaw, you will be mentored by Thistlefang, as Miststep mentored him.
Dragonpaw, your mentor will be Howl. He will train you well.
Mistypaw, you will be mentored by Rainsong. You are new to our clan, and I hope Rainsong will be able to guide you.
Wolfpaw, your mentor will be Tigerclaw, as he requested.
Leopardpaw, you will be mentored by my friend Miststep. I know she will pass down all she knows to you.
And, finally, Flutterpaw. Your mentor will be Olivebreeze. I trust she will teach you well."
Boulderstride waited for the ceremony to end before she padded up to the new leader

Tigerclaw purred soflty at that before his ears perked at the sound of his name and he purred, "Looks like you have to do whatever I say, apprentice." He chuckled softly.
Cherryleaf turned her soft chocolate eyes up to Eaglestar in surprise. She was getting an apprentice? She never expected one so soon. Her eyes searched around softly for Gingerpaw.

Eaglestar was smiling at all the apprentices when she was shocked by Falconpaw's yowl. Her eyes narrowed as they shot towards the apprentice, her ears flicking back. She stalked forwards, tail lashing. "Cloudstrike is one of the best warriors I know." she began, her voice hard. "You should be proud to have him as your mentor. As your leader, your mentor is my choice. I suggest you accept it." Strictness didn't suit the gentle leader, but perhaps it would get through to the stubborn apprentice--though Eaglestar had her doubts.
Pineclaw was surprised to hear his name as he reentered the clearing. He was mentoring...Redpaw? Who was that? Not a StoneClan cat, he was certain. His eyes shot to Eaglestar when she was interrupted by Falconpaw. He couldn't help but smirk. He could intervene--as Falconpaw's former deputy, perhaps she would listen to him. But he didn't, simply sitting back and watching. He'd avoided confronting the leader himself--he may not like it, but so far the clan's unity has helped them survive. And they didn't need more conflict after the fire. Still...it was very satisfying to see someone else stand up to the leader.

Growing bored, Loudpaw layed down, resting his head on his paws. He flicked his ear at Falconpaw's yowl, not particularly caring about her words. He just wanted to find out who his mentor was going to be and begin training.
