Softfrost ducked his head a bit shyly--he hadn't meant to stare at her. He cast another glance at the rest of the patrol ahead before deciding to take it upon himself to make the decision to split up. Hunting patrols hardly ever stayed together anyway. Waving his tail for Shrikewater to follow, he veered off to the right, checking back to make sure she was following.

"Hmmm..." Morningpaw hummed thoughtfully. "What do you like best about being a warrior? Can I guess?" Not waiting for a response, he continued, "Is it leading patrols?"

Lilacfeather snapped back to reality at the sound of Grousewhisker's voice and the touch of his tail against her flank. "Huh? Oh, nothing, I was just thinking...I haven't had my own apprentice in a while. It would be nice to have one again."

"Isn't it?" Magpieflight challenged. "Would you prefer being lied to? I know I wouldn't." He looked Tinybear up and down, as if trying to see what had changed. "Oh, did you? I hadn't noticed." He smirked a bit when he noticed the warrior growing nervous and asked gently, "What are you scared of?" He could never understand why his Clanmates feared him--well, maybe he could understand a little bit. Yes, he could be harsh, and yes, maybe "harsh" was an understatement, but he'd never been known to lash out in anger or lose his temper the way others did, and he certainly had never attacked a Clanmate--well, maybe one, but that tom had started it. No, Magpieflight knew it was his words, not his claws, that cut so deep, right down to the bone.

Darksun halted all of a sudden when Lostfoot appeared, seemingly out of no where, dragging Flarepaw by the scruff. Her gaze traveled from the young warrior to the apprentice to the fresh-kill he held in his mouth, but before she could ask any questions, Lostfoot explained. "I see..Flarepaw, you should know better than that. Why were you on BreezeClan territory? Furthermore, why were you hunting out here by yourself? You know can't leave camp without a warrior." She knew he was still young, but she had hoped Flarepaw wouldn't be getting into too much trouble.

Graytiger nodded and circled to the other side. He played out the scene in his mind, trying to judge which way the squirrel would go, before bursting out of the bushes with a yowl. For a moment he expected the squirrel to dart up the tree, but in its surprise it simply dropped the nut it was holding and ran in the opposite direction, straight towards Ripplewhisper.

Ferretclaw padded along silently after Weaselshadow. The tom seemed a bit distracted and so she was extra careful to keep her senses alert for any prey or danger that could be lurking nearby, just in case he wasn't. "I smell rabbit," she murmured when they neared the meadow. Rabbit was uncommon in MistClan territory, a treat she didn't want to miss out on.

Minkface couldn't help but let out a purr of amusement. "I can see that," she meowed, deciding to play along. "Well then, since you're so eager to serve your Clan, I suppose you had better just get out there already and starting hunting! Well, what are you waiting for?"

S t o r m p a w jumped to his paws, following after her without a moment of distraction. He gave himself a quick shake as he followed her, pulling himself up to be trotting along directly beside her. "Why are we going to the medicine cat den, Honeypetal? I'm eager to get out of camp - the sooner I hunt, the sooner I can eat!" He padded alongside her with pride. Honeypetal was exactly the mentor he'd needed - the tom was always up and ready to serve his Clan, and she was brilliant in training him. He had followed her example thoroughly, and she would see it when he was a warrior; his goal was to be ready to act as soon as the Clan needed him, to be able to be one of the first cats to volunteer for patrols, and to hopefully one day teach an apprentice everything she'd passed down.

F i n a l l y , Bianca felt herself awaken. The sleek brown tabby rolled in her comfy, soft nest, stretching out each of her paws on turn. She sat up and began grooming her pelt. With a yawn, the she-cat rose from her nest and trotted towards her food dish. Her Housefolk had put out a tin of food for her. She began to eat, purring lightly, enjoying it. She hardly touched the kibble her Housefolk kept out for her constantly, but twice a day she was given a can of food, which she devoured hungrily. Soft and tender, running with tasty juices, she had no problem finishing it off. The queen began to groom her paws, swiping them over her muzzle to clean it. Finally, she was satisfied.
Stomach full and fur tidy, Bianca padded towards her cat-flap. She slid out into the Housefolks' garden, the scent of the sweet herbs they grew touching her tongue. She leaped up onto the fence, gazing out into the forest. Often, she explored there, now that the strange scents had gone away. She always made it home before dusk, as to not worry her Housefolk - and, truthfully, the dark scared her. Curiously, her green eyes scanned the forest for movement. Seeing nothing, she leaped off of the fence, heading towards the forest.

"See to it then," Appleleaf instructed, "If she needs my help then you can come fetch me." She left the travelling herbs on the ground and retreated back to the herbs sector to do other minor things while she waited for her apprentice to sort the situation out. The medicine cat began by gathering up dead and shriveled herbs to throw away later.
