- indentShe remembered awakening to a dark, unrecognizable camp. The ground and inky black sky melded into one, the only difference being the slim sliver light illuminating from the moon and its companions, the stars. It sat in the back of her mind as Palebird stood before the shimmering pool of water, her eyes wide and ears flattened, with both suspicion and awe. Her legs shook ever so slightly when the figure, made of moonlight and stardust, formed in front of the remaining clan cats' eyes. They spoke of danger, of zodiacs, and a quest. This information was a lot to take in, and her thoughts were now racing. A quest? Zodiacs? What was this ancient figure speaking of? Almost immediately, her head spun around, trying to assess who was with her. The calico opened her mouth, but no words came out. She didn't have much time to say anything anyways, as Cinderfrost leaped at the stranger, causing then to disappear, and the medicine cat to yowl in pain before knocking out cold. Palebird was hardly able to process what had just occurred before she hit the cold ground, unconscious.
indentPalebird now stood upon a rocky shore, the pebbles crunching against each other beneath her weight. The water of a great lake lapped lazily at her paws, the green water both mesmerizing and a tad offputting. Far beyond, immense mountains towered, snow-capped and untouched. The wind was only a gentle breeze, whispering sweet nothings into the sky and the small waves of the emerald water. Part of her wished to walk into the lake, to let the cool, soothing water wash over her, and to take her. But she remained grounded, now sitting, as if she was.. waiting? But what for? Something moved along the rocks; actually, many somethings. Crabs, small and a striking cobalt blue, scurried over the pebbles and plowed straight into the calm water. Her gaze fixed upon them, almost amused by the peculiar sight. As suddenly as the crustaceans came, a voice echoed through her skull. "Your clan needs you, Young One; almost as much as I, ʷ ᵉᵎ do." the deep, slow, tranquil voice was interjected by a chorus of high-pitched, quick, scratchy voices; they were far less melodic, and she flinched at the unexpected sound they made. "Do as I instruct ʷᵉ ᵈᵉᵐᵃⁿᵈ ᶦᵗᵎ. Walk into the water; accept my ᵒᵘʳᵎ blessing. You will need it, if you are to save your clan ᵃⁿᵈ ᵗᵒ ᶠᵃᶜᵉ ᵗʰᵉ ʳᵉᵃˡ ⁿᶦᵍʰᵗᵐᵃʳᵉˢᵎ" She saw no face of the speakers, and their words made little sense, but the voices were more than compelling. With little hesitation, as if she were in a trance, Palebird stood and began to walk into the water. The current was strong, and now that she stood leg-deep into it, much, much colder than at first. It was then that the haze lifted, and clarity took hold. It was too late by then; the water had dragged her out till only her head remained above the water. She opened her mouth, perhaps to call out, perhaps to help her breathing, when she was swept beneath the now raging waves. Bubbles rushed out of her mouth as she cried out, and her eyes flew open-"
indentTo show the inside of the warrior's den. She was freezing from head to toe, and she was shaking down to the bone. The scent of the lakeshore still lingered in her nose, and her eyes burned, as if submerged in water. There was no way that was a simple nightmare. The dream came back in flashes, and Palebird scrambled to put the pieces together. Something with green water, and rocks and.. crabs? And she had to reassure herself that yes, she had seen dozens of little cobalt crabs racing on the rocks. And the voices; what did they say? She remembered something about a blessing. And then, cold, heavy water had seeped deep into her fur and a hungry current had dragged her under and-. She cut herself off there, giving her pelt a good shake. She needed to get up, and figure out what this all meant. Only then did she realize that Brightwish stood beside her, his eyes as bright as ever. While slightly startling, it was relieving to see a familiar and friendly face. A groan left her maw as she stretched, and swiftly she thanked him for waking her up. "I'm glad to see you alright, Brightwish. You are alright, aren't you? No bumps or bruises?" and in true Palebird intrusive fashion, she gave him a good few prods and ruffles to ensure that he was indeed unharmed. It was after then that the ruckus outside began to grab her attention, and with a frown, she turned and asked "What is happening? Is everyone alright?" She didn't entirely direct the question just at Brightwish; it was more rhetorical than anything. Just noise to fill up the hole the confusion and deep-seated fear had created.

- indentFallencloud could, surprisingly, recall the previous night fairly well. What preceded the starry figure's appearance admittedly found a way to slip her mind. But the regal, heavenly feline had stuck like dried honey to the back of her mind, and the words they spoke like flies caught within the sugary trap. The feeling of awe she felt had outshined the hostility and frustration brewing deep within her. It was hard not to be in awe when a cat made of moonlight and stars spoke to you. The aggression began to bubble over when they began to speak of the remaining clan's quest, though. They were only giving a handful of cats a moon to solve these riddles they were spitting at them? And within that moon, they also had to find twelve "zodiacs"? What even were "zodiacs"? Who was this, anyway? What right did they have to boss them around, right after the destruction of the camp and most of the clan goes missing? It took every ounce of strength in her body to not throw herself upon them and to start demanding answers. She was even quivering with anger, her jaw clenched so tight she saw stars (and not just the figure made of them in front of her). She didn't even have to hold back very long, as Cinderfrost seemed to have a similar idea, and had flung herself at the figure. A split second of shock had hit Fallencloud; of all members remaining, she hadn't expected the medicine cat to be initiating the aggression here. It was her last thought before she keeled over, overtaken by her own dream.
indentA field of stone was beneath her paws when her eyes next opened. Flat, gray, and cool, Fallencloud had never seen anything like it. It felt like slate, and when she looked around, she could see it stretch for what seemed an eternity. The only other feature in this unusual field was a very twisted, and very dead, tree. It's spindly, dark branches pointed in all directions, and it stretched as high as the heavens. With nowhere else to go, the white she-cat made her way towards it. She sat at its base, the scraggly and thick roots intertwining with themselves; it felt crucial to not touch the decaying wood, and she made sure to step over each root carefully and avoid it. As she looked up within the branches, searching for any sign of something, a booming voice had echoed through the air. " Ah, so you did come". Whipping around, the young warrior found her gaze locking onto that of a peculiar and borderline terrifying creature; a massive ram. Normally, rams and sheep and goats were creatures that would not frighten Fallencloud. But, well, this one was on fire, and she found that a tad alarming. It looked down with eyes that mimicked burning embers, and as they let out a hearty laugh, the dancing flames that engulfed their body soared even higher. "I always found your kind humorous. Alas, this is no time for humor." as they spoke, Fallencloud felt herself rising from her defensive crouch, and her muscles relax. Her gaze remained hard and serious; the stranger's tone was grave and demanded attention. "You were chosen for a reason, Little One. You better not disappoint." and the young cat took in a shaky breath. "This quest can not be complete without some assistance. Thus, I shall give you my blessing; use it well." in only a few strides, the ram now stood only tail lengths away. The suffocating heat of the flames engulfed Fallencloud, and the warmth only got more intense when they lowered their head to be level with hers. Her eyes watered from the heat, and her lungs burned from the smell of burning wood and smoke. Two fiery gazes locked for what seemed like an eternity, and then, a flash of white. She tried to cry out, but no sound came out. A great pain had blasted right through her skull, and a burning sensation raced through her body. And, just as quick as it came, it was gone. The pain subsided, and when her vision was gained, the fiery ram had disappeared, as if it had never been there. All that was left was Fallencloud, at the base of a twisted, decaying tree.
indentHer awakening wasn't a loud one, but it sure was a quick one. Amber eyes flew open, and Fallencloud's fur was standing on end. Deep, shaky breaths filled her lungs as images flashed through her mind of her vision and of the previous night. As if she was on autopilot, she dragged herself out if her nest, feeling heavy and lost. A good shake and a couple of hard blinks, and she straightened her posture and balanced her stride. As soon as she stepped out of the den, her bright stare surveyed the camp, for someone, anyone, she could sit beside. Someone to bring some normality to this new chaos. A small smile lit her face as she spotted her friend, Pythonshade. Finally, some normality, and hope; her friends were all she had, and she had so few. They had become something special to her, and to see even one was enough to lift her spirits, even slightly. She found herself biting her cheek to suppress the smile; it seemed inappropriate to show such a thing in a time of grief. Nonetheless, with a confident strut she made her way to her friend, and sat beside the tabby. "I'm glad to see that you're alright, Pythonshade. Well, physically alright. I don't suppose any of us are completely okay right now." she pondered, looking over to meet her amber eyes with her own. Pythonshade was always a bit hard to read, but she opened up enough to Fallencloud for her to like her and understand her.
