Gingertree had stirred far earlier in her nest then she would have liked, her mind telling her it was time to move even when her body tried to protest. Knowing there was no way she could go back to sleep, the she-cat moved to stretch her stiff limbs careful not to wake any of the others as she moved out of the warrior den. Flicking her ears she moved towards the opening seeing the soft orange glow of the rising sun and finding that Sunstar was already out and about. She gave a curt nod to the leader before moving away from the opening of the warrior den towards one of the flatter rocks that the sun will soon hit once it rises. She knows it will be a bit before many of the other warriors awake, as well as the apprentices so for now, she decides to wait until the sun rises. By then she figures if Sunstar needs them for anything he will say and if not she can work with Cloudpaw.

While the young tom wanted to refuse the first rays of sun that would soon light up the small area under the tree he used to sleep in, he knew nothing would change. He'd gone to sleep the night before earlier than normal, but still hated mornings enough to try and ignore the light. Before long though it was too much and he found himself moving out of the tree, pulling his body out onto the ashy ground. It wasn't the best place to be with little cover, but he stayed on the edge of the burnt areas, watching as the sprouts grew day after day and waiting for the area to regain life. The ash stuck to his fur at times, leaving him smelling like it not matter how much he groomed. He was growing used to the smell though and no longer scrunched his face at the scent.

Cloudpaw ; Location - camp ; Tags - Gingertree
The light didn't bother her eyes as Cloudpaw stepped out of the apprentice den. She was the oldest of the apprentices but had to train ten times as hard. Most days she sought out her mentor rather than the other way around. Cloudpaw could move relatively easily about the camp, although finding specific cats was much harder and required her to use her sense of smell. Thankfully not many cats were awake yet making it easy for Cloudpaw to find her mentor atop a rock. "Good morning, Gingertree," She greeted as she climbed up beside her mentor.

Flicking her tail out behind her Gingertree watches as others wake around her, a few other warriors padding out of the den as well as some of the apprentices including her own. "Good morning to you as well Cloudpaw." She tells the young she-cat with a smile, watching as the apprentice climbs up next to her. "Figured we would see if Sunstar had any patrols for us to go on and if not we could work on some hunting today." She told Cloudpaw before glancing back around the clearing, wondering if any of the other warriors would want to take their apprentice along. She knew it was hard for Cloudpaw with her sight, but she learned quickly and pushed herself so hard that Gingertree had to remind her to slow down sometimes, another apprentice would be good for her to work with.

Fernleaf blinked open her striking green eyes, as sunlight began peaking through into the warriors den. Yawning, she stood up and stretched before settling down to quietly groom her pale silver and white pelt. She wondered when dawn patrols would begin heading out again, and if Sunstar would put togeather an early hunting patrol.Once groomed she headed out into the clearing, careful not to wake others as she did so.

Lilydawn curled protectivly around her only kit as she slept in her nest within the nursery.She dreamt of when she and Silverhawk were still mates, hoping he would be proud of their kits, even Frostkit despite her being deaf.

Frostkit snuggled close to her mothers warmth before blinking open her bright blue eyes. Upon seeing the morning's early sun rays, she was imediatly filled with energy. Silently she tried to nose her mother awake but when that didn't work, she climbed out of Lilydawn's nest and crept over to peek out of the nursery.

Orangepaw slept in her nest, her fluffy bright ginger fur rising and falling gently. She dreamt she was a fierce warrior defending the clan in a battle against a huge patrol of evil rogues.Not realising it, she kicked out in her sleep, managing to kick her brother who was asleep next to her.

Cragpaw blinked open his eyes as his sister kicked him awake.Sitting up he glanced over at her before shaking the moss from his pelt and padding out to clearing.Now that he was awake, he might as well get an early start on his apprentice duties or training.He nodded to Silentpaw as he passed by her.

Sunstar's legs had grown stiff as the sun rose, sitting in one position for too long had taken its toll. As he watched the camp, he noticed a pair of eyes peeking out from the nursery. Recognizing the blue gaze of Frostkit, he smiled warmly, knowing that if he called to her, she wouldn't hear. He stood and stretched before sitting again, curling his tail around his paws.

Broken laid curled fast asleep in the shadows of her den. Her paws twitched in her sleep. She was dreaming. A familiar dream that she would forget as soon as she opened her eyes- much to her frustration. She jolted awake, her silver eyes gleaming in the gloom of her den, an opening under a bush. She sighed and crawled out. The young cat blinked the sleep from her eyes as she looked around. Still gloomy in the forest, away from any dawn light. Too early to hunt, too late to fall back to sleep.

The white she-cat nodded in response to her mentor, taking a seat beside her. "Sounds good to me. I always enjoy morning hunts," she said before quietly adding, "The clean air makes it easier..." She sat, quietly watching as more and more blurry cats appeared out of their dens. She hoped silently that she and Gingertree could go out without the other apprentices. Though she would never admit it aloud, but Cloudpaw always felt self-conscious about her skills when around the other younger apprentices..

Thrushfoot ; Location - camp ; Tags - Open
As more cats began to move about camp, Thrushfoot silently moved to a shaded area to keep out of everyones way. As he waited Thrushfoot took the time to groom his oddly speckled fur. He groomed himself silently as he awaited orders from his leader, occasionally glancing around camp to located Sunstar to be sure he wasnt missing anything.

Nightecho ; Location - camp ; Tags - Open
Night echo trotted to the nursery and peaked inside, "Pardon me," he whispered to the two queens," but do either of you need anything? I'm going to collect herbs soon and wanted to check with you first." The small black tom always made sure to check on the queens before doing any other work. He would be sure to find some sweet berries for the kits to play with and/or munch on.

Blinking open her eyes at Nightecho's whisper, Lilydawn was alarmed to find Frostkit no longer in her nest.She calmed as soon as she spotted her only kit by the nursery entrance though, and turned to smile at the medicine cat."I think we're good, Frostkit isn't nursing as much, now that she's started eating prey so i won't be needing any borage."She mewed quietly to not wake her denmate.

Frostkit smiled back at Sunstar before turning to watch Nightecho and her mother curiously.From the looks of it, he had probably asked her mother something and by her smiling anserw nothing seemed wrong.Still full of energy, Frostkit couldn't help herself and began pawing playfully at the medecine cat's tail.

Sunstar caught Thrushfoot's gaze and motioned for the spotted tom to come to him. "Would you go out on a hunting patrol? I can see that some cats are going out on their own, but it would help to familiarize yourselves with the territory." Tail flicking as he made his request, he was momentarily glad that it wasn't him who was going out on patrol as a warrior. Ever since he lost a life from poison in the burnt trees, he had been wary of different pieces of their territory.

Rivermist walked quietly through the forest, the sun turning to liquid gold as it started to push through the trees. She could scent rain on the way, but it didn't seem as if it would be for a while yet. She didn't pay attention as she walked and simply let her paws carry her through the trees. She was too focused on trying to clear her mind from the nightmares again. If a mouse bit her she wouldn't have even paused. Her tail flicking steadily, she continued on.

"The fresh air makes it easier for everyone before all the trails get mixed together and you have to try and distinguish between the stale and the fresh scents," Gingertree told her before standing and stretching and moving to hope off the rock. "We better get going then while everything is still a bit sluggish maybe we can catch something in this state." She tells her with a smile while glancing around the camp. She knows it's a bit different training Cloudpaw then it would be other, but the young she-cat is so willing that Gingertree wonders if she could have ever gotten a better apprentice for her first one. She also knows that if she works at it and focuses right Cloudpaw should be better at hunting than most cats, it's not often that they actually see prey but hear or smell it first. With Cloudpaw's vision being bad her other senses should heighten a bit to try and compensate for that, Gingertree just had to get her to figure that out.

After another moment of just taking in the rising sun Silver decides he needs to move away from the den and find something to eat in the morning. He'd learned that the area right around and even inside of the burned area was rich with mice and birds as they flocked to eat the sprouts and seeds close to the surface and easily found. He also learned that they were all on high alert with the little cover and it was much harder to catch them when he had little room to hide from them. So he stuck to the forest on the edge of the burnt land, using it for cover while still taking advantage of the prey gathering.

Turtle ~ Location: burnt trees ~ Tags: open ~

Turtle trudged through the burnt landscape, wearily pushing forward. She was painfully aware of the pain in her leg and how she stood out against the burnt trees. She didn't care if she was seen, heard, or scented. The little manx had begun to look even smaller, about the size of an apprentice, due to lack of food. She didn't trust the trees and any prey hidden within them. They'd likely be unsafe to eat due to any ash on their fur/feathers.
