Mintheart was strolling around when she saw Puddlestar. She smiled at him. She ran over. "Hey puddlestar! Want some help?" She asked sweetly.

[Katrione]

Soaringbird tucked her muzzle under her paw, curling her tail around her kits. Cricketkit scrambled out from under Soaringbird's tail, circling around the pure white queen until she was by her head. The black and white she-kit reared up, placing her tiny paws on her mother's forehead. "Soaringbird, I wanna go play." She chirped.

The white queen grumbled slightly but didn't open her eyes. Cricketkit pushed on Soaringbird's forehead and squeaked louder. Flamingkit stirred against Soaringbird's belly, letting out a dissatisfied grumble. "Please!" She squealed. Soaringbird sighed, opening her pale blue eyes to look at her daughter.

"Fine, but don't bother anyone. Take Flamingkit with you." Flamingkit raised her head at this, glaring at her mother.

"But I want to sleep." Flamingkit protested.

"Cricketkit won't let anyone else sleep if she doesn't go outside." Soaringbird mewed. Flamingkit grumbled, hauling herself to her paws and trudging out after Cricketkit, who had already retreated from the den, squealing loudly.

After a little while, Soaringbird hadn't been able to go back to sleep so she got to her paws and added outside. She sat at the entrance to the nursery, curling her tail over her paws as she watched Cricketkit and Flamingkit play.

He dropped two mice on the pile, his tail tip twitching slightly. His eyes flickered across the camp, lingering on each cat that was up and about for less than a second before moving on. He yawned slightly, his ear flicking irritably at his apparent inability to sleep through an entire night before he moved to the edge of camp to clean his fur from his hunt.


Birchpaw | Tom | Apprentice
The apprentice darted out of the den, skidding slightly as he stopped. He hadn't meant to sleep in a bit, but yet here he was up a bit late and having no clue what he was supposed to be doing. Amazing.

The blue tom remembers why he has to pick a new deputy, and why the apprentices need mentors. Graniteslip went missing three moons ago. Puddlestar had postponed picking a new deputy in hopes that the old deputy would return, as well as the apprentice ceremonies. He had wanted Graniteslip to mentor one of them. He was my best friend.
Mintheart's mew snaps him out of his dark thoughts. "Hello Mintheart!' his voice rang out on the brisk morning air. Puddlestar smiled. "I was just trying to catch a few fish before the patrols went out, but it seems like I've caught a warrior instead."

Eveningleaf

Eveningleaf mewed to her apprentice. "Look outside, over at the Willowclan border. Snowclouds." She pauses, flicking an ear. "We need to gather any herbs we can find so they don't wilt from the frost, and if we find any new ones, I'll teach you how to use them. That sound good to you?" She looks at her apprentice, waiting for a response.

Pinepaw was sleeping in her nest quietly. She kicked her back leg, dreaming. Pinepaw had spent almost the entire night training, and no one had noticed her slip back into the apprentice den a few hours before dawn. Even Puddlestar was still sleeping at that time. She smiled in her sleep as she executed yet another perfect battle move in her dream.
