Kalani
"Gaea, come on! There isn't a need to be anti-social and impolite!" Kalani was now tugging at her friend's wing in an attempt to get her to come closer to the door. "We're both new here, and need to socialize with everyone in the area."
Much to her disliking, Gaea didn't budge from her spot near the mailbox. Kalani couldn't help but let out a sigh of frustration over the situation that was happening. So... Embarrassing. Just a few months in the area, and Gaea was already making a fool of herself for being the weird one, for not wanting to tend a party with everyone else. Now Kalani was regretting even taking Gaea along with her. Such a stubborn, grumpy mule, she was! There was no hope for the poor girl; nothing that could be done.
"Have it your way," Kalani eventually mumbled, giving up on the stubborn mule that she called her friend. "Everyone's probably going to think you're a freak, refusing to go to a party and being anti-social. Just like when we went to school!" Huffing, she turned her tail toward her friend. "I hope you get lost on your way home."
Catching up with the crowd of people, Kalani trotted up to the door, a neatly wrapped, hand-woven basket hanging around her tail. Quickly, she flashed a smile to Neptune as she entered.
"Hello, it's nice to see you!" Kalani politely greeted, wanting to make up for her friend's anti-social and impolite behavior. "I apologize for my friend over there," she pointed towards Gaea with her tail, "she's new here and doesn't know many people, so she probably won't come in after a while." Her ear twitched. Chances are, she wouldn't come in at all. "Um, where do you want me to this?" She asked quickly, gesturing to the basket hanging on her tail.
Gaea
And that was Kalani, for you. Always the social butterfly, the extrovert, the one more likely to be asked out on a date. She expected everyone to be a social butterfly, and she didn't expect any less. Such high expectations for such an average creature... Gaea thought to herself. But there was nothing to to be done about that fact. Creatures were creatures, Kalani was Kalani, and it was impossible to change her personality wise.
Awkwardly, Gaea weighed out the decisions, balancing on her paws, weighing the choices. She could go, be social, get recognition in the area, and leave for the night with Kalani, or she could walk on home and possibly get lost. Which was worse--being at a party with at least one person you know, or walking home, getting lost, and having to ask a complete stranger for directions? Knowing myself, I would get lost, she decided, her pessimistic side taking over. Might as well risk the party.
Quietly, Gaea approached the crowd of people near the door, hesitant on what to do. She would ruin this all, she just knew it. Foolish me! Gaea bitterly thought, continuing to trot towards the door. I completely forgot my book at the house! How could I have done such a foolish thing?!
With a sigh, she stepped into the doorway, analyzing the JMD standing at the door. Green, complex pattern on his shoulder, brown... No, that wasn't right. Oblivious to the fact that everyone was probably staring at her, Gaea stared in fascination at Neptune's broken jewel on his tail. And his wings. How? Maybe a genetic mutation? Perhaps an accident when he was younger? I can ask him about that later... Gaea decided, when he wasn't talking to some other jewel. Perhaps a new, undiscovered mutation in the wings forming gene? Maybe the gene comes from a dominant allele that he inherited from his parents. Perhaps his grandparents? Maybe its a dominant gene, one that can be forever passed on? Oh, what such an interesting appearance...
Coming to the realization that she was, awkwardly, standing in the way of everyone, analyzing Neptune, Gaea quickly stepped out of the way so everybody could get through. Perhaps I could head to the living room, where it won't be as crowded... she thought. But then that's where everyone else would be in a few minutes. Drats. She sighed, quietly heading to the living room. Well, it's worth a try, anyway.
Anyone need any spare muse? I have too much, and I don't need to be posting these long of posts...
