Greynose began to groom his fur, but he looked up as he spotted Sootpaw, come out of the apprentices den, and the deputy got to his paws before making his way over to the she-cat. "Sootpaw. Do you want to go give some fresh-kill to Leopardheart and Reedkit if they are awake?"

Leopardheart was sitting in her nest, as the spotted tabby queen hadn't been able to get to sleep at all that night. She looked a bit tired, but she ignored it as she licked her shoulder.

Sootpaw looked up from grooming her fur. "Sure Greynose." she took two pieces of kill and walked to the nursery. She dropped the prey in front of leopardheart. "Hungry?" she asked her. She turned and looked down on reedkit. "Are you hungry?" she asked him.

Reedkit nodded and walked towards the prey. He pounced on it pretending to kill it. Then he ate it quietly.

Leopardheart nodded and she purred as she watched Reedkit, then she flicked her tail. "Thanks Sootpaw." She meowed, and she ate the other piece of fresh kill.

Reedkit finished. "thanks sootpaw." he mumbled. "I want someone to play with!" he told his sister as he rolled onto his back.

Sootpaw looked at him and smiled. "there will be more kits to play with soon." she said glancing at leopardheart. "and until then I'll play with you as much as I can." she added.

Leopardheart smiled and she flickered her tail. "If you want to play with Reedkit you have the time now." She meowed, then she got to her paws and stretched before padding out of the nursery.

Sootpaw nodded and smiled at reedkit. They played.

Snowpaw and Ravenpaw padded out of the apprentices den. The two littermates stretched before they groomed each others fur.

I'll be back reedkit." sootpaw said before turning and walking outside. She glanced around seeing that snowpaw and ravenpaw were up. "hey." she said to them walking up.

Snowpaw and Ravenpaw both looked up. "Hey Sootpaw." Snowpaw greeted, and the white she-cat blinked her teal-blue eyes.
